Mangolicious pizza combines the rich, tropical sweetness of ripe mangoes with a crisp crust and carefully balanced toppings that bring out the fruit’s natural flavour.
Ingredients
- 1 Piece Pizza Base
- 120 Gram Mozzarella & Cheddar Cheese (grated)
- 200 Gram Ripe Mango (peeled and sliced thin)
- 100 Gram Rocket Lettuce (arugula)
- 10 Milliliter Olive Oil (for garnish)
- 5 Gram Black Pepper (freshly cracked)
- 80 Gram For the Tomato Sauce: Peeled Tomatoes
- 40 Gram Tomato Puree
- 100 Milliliter Olive Oil
- 10 Gram Fresh Basil Leaves
- 5 Gram Leek (chopped)
- 5 Gram Celery (chopped)
- 30 Gram Garlic (chopped or minced)
Main Procedure
Prepare the Tomato Sauce: In a blender, combine peeled tomatoes, tomato puree, garlic, basil, leek, and celery. Blend into a smooth, aromatic sauce. Heat a bit of olive oil in a pan and simmer the blended sauce for 5–7 minutes to enhance the flavors. Set aside to cool slightly.
Assemble the Pizza: Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F). Place the pizza base on a baking tray or pizza stone. Spread a generous layer of the freshly prepared tomato sauce evenly over the base.
Add Cheese and Mango: Sprinkle the mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the sauce, covering the base evenly. Then, arrange the thin mango slices artistically across the pizza for a burst of sweet flavor in every bite.
Bake to Perfection: Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 12–15 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish and Serve: Once baked, top the hot pizza with a generous handful of fresh rocket lettuce. Finish with a light drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of freshly cracked black pepper for a peppery kick.
