  • 2.5 Cup FOR PIE CRUST: All Purpose Flour
  • 2 Cup Unsalted Butter
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 7 Tablespoon Ice Water
  • 7 Piece FOR APPLE FILLING: Apple (peeled, sliced)
  • 94 Gram Granulated Sugar
  • 31 Gram Brown Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 Pinch Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tablespoon All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Piece FOR EGG WASH: Egg
  • 1 Tablespoon Milk

Main Procedure

Step 1

To prepare the dough, first take a large bowl and add in flour, salt, and sugar in it. Mix it well and then add chilled butter cubes to it.

Step 2

Cut into the flour using a pastry cutter or fingers until the mixture becomes coarse. Gradually add ice water and mix until the dough holds together.

Step 3

Divide the dough into two equal parts, shape them into discs, wrap in plastic and let it chill for about 1 hour.

Step 4

To make the apple filling, add in apple slices in a bowl along with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, flour, vanilla extract, and sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 190°C.

Roll out one dough on a floured surface and transfer to a pie pan.

Pour the apple filling into the crust and dot with butter pieces.

Roll out the secons dough disc and place it over the apples. Trim the excess dough and crimp the edges. Cut out small slits on top for proper ventilation.

Mix egg and milk in a small bowl. Brush the top crush with this mixture for a better finish.

Bake it for 50 or 60 minutes.
