At least 100 people are feared to be trapped under the debris of the landslide, in Maharashtra's Raigad district. The landslide occurred around 11 pm on Wednesday at Irshalwadi village in Khalapur tehsil, the official said. Over 20 persons injured in the landslide have been admitted to a hospital in Navi Mumbai. NDRF teams rushed to the site after receiving the information about the landslide.
Recorded rainfall between July 19 at 8:30 am and July 20 at 5:30 am in Mumbai and its adjoining area.

A rescue operation is underway and so far around 22 people have been rescued. Presently over 100 officials of Police and District administration are involved in rescue operations along with NDRF, some NGOs and the locals of Irshalwadi village. Delhi minister Atishi visited water-logged area at Rajghat, says, "Everyone is working towards the pumping out of flood water from this area. Pumping sets are being used to pump out the water."
All the emergency Agencies NDRFs, SDRFs & Municipal cooperations, everyone is on alert mode. They are working on rescue operations and assure the public gets proper relief facilities. Since morning I am in contact with the Secretaries and DMs, and people are being shifted to safe places, says Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
"I have ordered the Commissioner of BMC to assure people get back to their homes safely and rescue those who are stuck in the rain," he adds.
CM Eknath Shinde visited the BMC Disaster Control room to take stock of the rain situation and the municipal corporation's preparedness. He also gave the necessary instructions to the officers: Maharashtra CMO.

Following continuous rainfall in parts of Uttarakhand the Met Department on Tuesday issued an alert regarding possible inundation of low-lying areas and landslides in hilly areas, an official statement said.
"Due to continuous rain/heavy rain in Koti, Mussoorie Tehsil/Block in Dehradun and Laksar Block/Tehsil in Haridwar districts, inundation of low-lying areas and landslides in hilly areas are likely to occur. People are advised to remain alert," the statement read, as quoted by ANI.
Four more deaths in rain-related incidents were reported in Haryana on Monday, taking the death toll to 34, according to state government data. The state was lashed by heavy rains recently, leading to flooding in various districts. As many as 1,378 villages and 1.67 lakh hectares of crop area have been affected, the data updated at 5 pm stated. A total of 6,477 people have been evacuated from the affected areas, it stated. Seven people were killed in rain-related incidents in the past 24 hours, the Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner said in a statement issued here on Monday. According to the statement, five persons died by drowning -- two in Ghazipur, and one each in Etawah, Jalaun and Kanpur Dehat -- while one died due to snake-bite in Kanpur Dehat, and another person died due to excess rainfall. According to the irrigation department, water level is above the danger level for Ganga in Budaun and Yamuna in Mathura. (PTI)

Heavy rain lashed several areas of Delhi on Saturday, causing waterlogging and traffic congestion in the city, parts of which are already reeling from flooding over the past few days. The national capital is facing unprecedented flooding due to the Yamuna breaching its banks following days of heavy rain in its upper catchment areas.
The rain brought the mercury in the city down a notch to 34.6 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department said.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala Saturday inspected flood-hit villages of this district. In the joint relief work by Faridabad Police and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, over 500 people were evacuated from flood-affected areas here and shifted to safer places on Saturday morning, officials said.
"The state of Himachal Pradesh saw widespread rainfall in the past 24 hours. Kangra district witnessed the highest rainfall followed by Dharamshala at 131 millimetres then Mandi and others. In the coming 4-5 days, there could be heavy to very heavy rainfall in seven districts - Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, Bilaspur, Mandi, Kullu, and Kangra... Orange alert on July 15, 16, and 17, followed by yellow alert. The chances of landslides are high since the soil is already saturated and there will be poor visibility in the hilly areas," says Surender Paul, Director, IMD-Shimla.
Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij, says, " In our state also water came from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh but we are not blaming anyone. We are trying to make arrangements... All the villages and cities on the banks of the Yamuna have received the same amount of water. Why would we deliberately release water in our districts?"

"We can see around five centimeters reduction in the water level and the situation will further improve till tomorrow... We have around 44 camps in Delhi at present, some of them are in schools and some are makeshift arrangements which we are aiming to move to school buildings only. The total number of evacuated people so far stands at 25,478 and a total of 22,803 people have come to the camps," said Ashwani Kumar, Revenue Secretary, and Divisional Commissioner of Delhi Government.
"Now, the water is receding and it will continue receding today and tomorrow... The receding trend will persist since there is no sign of precipitation in the upper regions...The water level of Yamuna at 11 am today stood at 207.43 meters and at 11 pm tonight it will reduce to 206.72 meters," said Ashwani Kumar, Revenue Secretary, and Divisional Commissioner of Delhi Government.

Villagers of Basbari in the Bongaigaon district of Assam are facing problems due to river erosion in the area. "30-40 families have lost their homes due to river erosion and many of them left this area. My house is also located nearby the river. I am also now fearing that, the river will swallow my house and due to this reason, I am now destroying my house. Where we will go, where we will live. Maximum villagers of this area are labourers and few villagers are doing small business, says villager Naruttam Mazumdar.

The water level of the Yamuna River in Delhi on Saturday at 9 am was recorded at 207.53 metres. The water level saw a dip of 0.09 metres as compared to the level that was recorded at 7 am, as per Central Water Commission.

The weather office has issued a 'yellow' alert for moderate rain and thundershowers on Saturday in Delhi, parts of which continue to reel from a flood-like situation.Several areas, including Laxmi Nagar, Ayanagar, Lodhi Road, Mungeshpur and a few localities in east Delhi, witnessed light rainfall on Friday. There was a light drizzle in other areas, including Lutyens' Delhi.In a forecast, the India Meteorological Department said light to moderate rainfall is expected to continue in Delhi on Saturday and added that a 'yellow' alert has been issued for the city.There would be generally cloudy skies with moderate rain and thundershowers, it said, PTI reported.

"Three minor children drowned to death in the waterlogging near Mukundpur in North West district. The bodies have been sent to a hospital. Investigation is underway," Delhi Police said, ANI reported.
"The water has receded slightly but we are still on high alert and fully prepared for any emergency. There are still 4-5 places which are affected by severe waterlogging. We have rescued almost 900 people and 600 animals from the affected areas and the relief work is still going on. However, the NDRF team is still on standby. Delhi Floods: Union MoS Home Nityanand Rai says, "Everyone should work for tackling the current situation rather than doing politics on it. We are sending the team as per requirement. 15 NDRF teams have been deployed in Delhi. 4,346 people have been rescued and shifted to safer areas. 179 animals have also been rescued."
Delhi Traffic Police advisory:
1. Movement of traffic is restricted from Shanti Van towards Geeta Colony Flyover due to rise in water level of Yamuna river. Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly.
2. Traffic movement is restricted on IP Road both carriage ways from under IP flyover to W point and vice versa due to overflow of sewer water near IP flyover. Commuters are advised to take alternate route and to avoid the stretch.
3. Traffic is affected on Najafgarh road in the carriageway from Tilak Nagar towards Moti Nagar due to breakdown of a truck at Raja Garden Chowk. Kindly avoid the stretch.
Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on efforts to control Yamuna floodwaters from entering into the city limits: "We wrote to Chief Secretary on Whatsapp group to call NDRF otherwise floodwaters might enter into sensitive areas of Delhi. We also asked the DM. But, our messages were ignored last night".

The water level of Yamuna River at Old Railway Bridge (ORB) recorded at a level slightly lower than that recorded at 9 am. While it was 208.40 meters at 9 am, it is 208.38 metres at 10 am.
Delhi Minister Atishi says, "Good news is that the water level is not rising, it was stable from 1pm-7pm yesterday and it is receding very gradually now. But it is receding at a rate of 0.1 metre so it will take a day's time for the water to recede. Water is entering areas because all drains are full and it is backflow that is flooding the areas. Pumping out is not possible now because the water will have to go to Yamuna itself and its water level is already high...This difficulty is not due to a person or situation but due to incessant heavy rainfall in north India. He further stated, "In a bid to convert the Najafgarh drain adjoining DDA Flats Mukherjee Nagar into a river, the civic agencies left a few sewer lines open. The Drain is now about to implode and its water is gushing into our colony. We are already ankle-deep in sewer water with viral malarial diseases only to follow next.
"The river was never created but yes we have become an island. With sewer water getting mixed with water supplies we have no water to drink, all shops selling water have either sold their water or have started hoarding them," he added.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has deployed two Medium Lift Helicopters (MLH) for flood relief operations at Ambala. The helicopters have so far dropped around 2000 kg of relief material comprising water bottles, ration, and tarpaulin sheets in the villages of Niharsa and Allaudin Majra.
IAF is undertaking Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Ops in coordination with civil administration to drop essential supplies in areas inundated with water. Further sorties are underway.

All Govt offices, except those providing essential services, will have Work from Home. Advisory is being issued for private offices too to Work for Home. Water rationing will have to be done as 3 Water Treatment Plants are shut and people will face water crisis for a day or two. Heavy vehicles, except those providing essential services, that enter Delhi will not be allowed. There were issues of toilets and bathrooms at relief camps. So, the camps are being shifted to schools."

Several states have been witnessing incessant rainfall for the past few days leading to the loss of lives and property damage. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued Red, Orange and Yellow Alerts for various districts in the affected states. Continuous downpour in the national capital has led to the Yamuna river overflowing which prompted the evacuation of people living in nearby areas on Tuesday.
Several states have also been witnessing repeated instances of landslides and rockslides. In Himachal Pradesh, landslides have claimed four more lives and more than 200 people remain stranded. Senior IMD Scientist Sandeep Kumar Sharma on Monday (July 10) while talking to ANI said, "A red alert has been issued for very heavy rainfall in Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur, Kullu, Mandi, Kinnaur, and Lahaul for the next 24 hours. Additionally, an orange alert has been issued in Una, Hamirpur, Kangra, and Chamba. A flash flood warning has been issued for Mandi, Kinnaur, and Lahaul-Spiti for the next 24 hours." Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will take stock of the rain-affected regions in the state today (July 11) by conducting an aerial survey.
Rockslides were seen in many areas on Uttarakhand highways which obstructed rescue operations.
Eight people died in the past 24 hours in Uttar Pradesh. Five out of eight died in lightning strikes, two died by drowning and one died following a snake bite. Many districts in UP have witnessed much more rainfall than usual. Thirty-three districts have experienced more than usual rainfall. Three people were also killed on Monday (July 10) and many got seriously injured in incidents of roof collapse following heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur and Badaun districts.
Maharashtra has been witnessing incessant rainfall as well. Mumbai's Santacruz observatory has recorded 1,043 mm of rainfall which is 45% of the season’s average. The weather bureau said light to moderate rainfall will continue through the week and its intensity may pick up around the weekend.
