Two Delhi Police personnel were killed on Monday night after the car they were travelling in rammed into a canter (truck) near Sonipat's Kundli Border yesterday, as per news agency ANI.
The deceased policemen were identified as Inspector Dinesh Beniwal from the North West District's Special Staff team and ATO Inspector Ranveer, who was posted at the Adarsh Nagar police station. Both of them were travelling together when their car collided with the truck late at night, reported ANI.

A similar accident took place in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad which killed two policemen. One of them was a constable of the Delhi Police and another a constable of the Uttar Pradesh Police. The accident took place near Kanawani culvert in the Indirapuram area last night, as per a report by news agency PTI.
Both of them were posted on duty for the security of a builder, Nikhil Chowdhary, who lived in Delhi's Vivek Vihar. The builder, along with his driver and two gunmen, were travelling to his home in an SUV when the accident took place, reported PTI.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Trans Hindon), Nimish Patil, the driver could not control the steering due to the high speed, as a result of which the SUV jumped the divider and hit two cars that were parked on the other side of the road. The gunmen were identified as Head Constable Jaiom Sharma, hailing from UP's Baghpat district, and the other was Constable Jagbir Raghav, a native of Agra district.
Although the police rushed to the spot and took the injured to the nearby district government hospital, they were pronounced dead on arrival by the doctors. The police are currently investigating the CCTV footage to ascertain who was driving the car when the accident happened. Until then, the driver has been detained, and the bodies of the policemen have been sent for a postmortem, as per PTI.
