The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after he exuded confidence that his party will win 150 out of 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, slated to undergo Assembly polls later this year. Taking a swipe at Rahul Gandhi, Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday said that the problem with Congress is that “meetings are held in Delhi for Madhya Pradesh.”

“Public is pleading that Delhi is very far away. We are confident that the BJP will form its government in MP with an absolute majority in the upcoming elections,” he added while speaking to reporters.

Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra also targeted Rahul Gandhi saying “he is dreaming”. “They promised to waive off loans and give unemployment allowance, we all saw what happened to that. His remark of 150 seats will meet the same fate," he added.

Meanwhile, BJP leader VD Sharma responding to the former Congress MP’s remark said that his party “will win 200 seats on their developmental model.”

BJP Attacks Congress In Rajasthan Too

The Congress and BJP were at loggerheads in Rajasthan also, which too is due for Assembly polls later this year.

BJP MLA Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore traded barbs with Congress saying the party has 'Kursi Bachao Yojana'.

“CM said that their problem will be sorted out but it's the people of Rajasthan who will sort out Congress. Unemployment has increased in the state while the government did a drama of giving allowance. Exam papers are getting leaked. VAT on petrol is highest in Rajasthan,” he said targeting the Congress dispensation in the state.

CM Ashok Gehlot’s Response To BJP

Meanwhile Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot challenged the saffron party to talk on state-specific and governance-related issues.

“We will not let them mislead people on the basis of religion and caste. During the five years of our governance in the state, many colleges and educational institutions have been opened in the state,” he said, adding “We also introduced the Right to Health in the state. We leave it to the public to make their decision.”

“PM Modi and BJP are perturbed with our 'Mehngai Rahat Camp'. The PM is visiting every district of Rajasthan. He is giving importance to Rajasthan as the local unit of BJP has nothing to say. I have heard that Amit Shah even scolded them as they did not do anything. They are not able to project any face and will contest the election on PM Modi's face,” he added.
