The court has asked the state govt what steps it is taking to ensure peace and tranquillity in the state given the upcoming Hanuman Jayanti. BJP leader Bharati Ghosh has accused Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee of instigating violence. "Just after the Howrah incident, the Bengal CM, from an open platform, gave a clean chit to one particular community and said that they can’t indulge in any violence during the Ramzan period. She was not only appeasing, but also instigating them," Ghosh said.
Ghosh was further quoted as saying by ANI: "The CM said ‘one particular route was given to Ram Navami processions but they diverted the route and went through Kazipara and why did they do that?’ What does this mean? It’s been 12 years of TMC governance and they couldn’t establish communal harmony in the state."
A BJP delegation has met Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose, seeking his intervention in the "deteriorating law & order situation" of the state.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has sought a report from the Mamata Banerjee government on the Ram Navami violence and "poor law-and-order situation in Bengal".
Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar has alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is creating communal tensions in the state. "Police are not arresting the attackers. Instead, they are apprehending those who were simply carrying weapons. Is there any video of them attacking anyone? There is no proof. But we’ve videos of violence during the Ram Navami. No action is being taken against the perpetrators.
Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has said that strict action will be taken against the perpetrators of violence during Ram Navami processions. "People of Bengal have suffered enough. But no more. The people's right to peaceful lives will be established at any cost," he said. "There is no difference of opinion on this," he said.
West Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the law and order situation in the state. He alleged that the police is "harassing and arresting Hindus while turning a blind eye to the actual culprits and criminals from the minority community". He has urged Shah's intervention in the matter.
A part of Hooghly Highway has been reopened and the movement of vehicles has been restored after a fresh incident of stone pelting was reported in Hooghly on Monday evening.

West Bengal Industry Minister Shashi Panja condemned the violence that took place in Howrah during Ram Navami celebrations. "On Ram Navami in Howrah district there was a procession by BJP & VHP…There was vandalism. On that day in Trinamool party’s press conference, we showed how BJP workers were brandishing pistols & swords," she said.
"BJP said the video was fake & today Howrah police arrested Sumit Shaw, he admitted as a BJP worker & that he was part of the procession. What does BJP have to say on this?" she added.
West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose visits Rishra in Hooghly district where stone-pelting occurred yesterday.
"There will be solid action on part of all enforcement agencies. We will never allow miscreants to take law in hand, police will come down heavily on them. Bengal has been suffering for long time, we'll put a final end to it," he said.

All government and private schools are to remain closed till April 4 in Rohtas district in the wake of violence that erupted recently in district's Sasaram town. Along with that, all coaching institutes will also remain shut.

Dharmendra Kumar, DM Rohtas said, "The situation is peaceful in Sasaram. Y'day, we got info that a few people from one community threw explosives at a religious site belonging to another community. 6 people were injured, but they didn't suffer any serious injuries. Looking at the incident site, it is clear that the explosion occurred due to the mishandling of explosives. 1100-1200 security personnel deployed in the city. The public should not believe rumours."
Whereas, Nalanda DM Shashank Shubhankar said, "Situation is peaceful and we request people not pay heed to rumours. The firing was reported at two places and arrests were made last night itself."
PTI reported citing sources that the Union Home Ministry has decided to send additional paramilitary forces to Bihar after communal violence in the state.

In a tweet, the police said, "This is totally baseless and absurd rumour. No one has left his/her locality. If you can provide name, then plz do so. We appeal to the general public not to pay attention to any such rumour. The situation is peaceful and normal in Sasaram."

A clash occurred between two groups in Charminar area in Telangana. A few people from Muslim community attacked a few people from Hindu community after latter came on a bike and did sloganeering on Ram Navami day during Ramadan evening prayers, SHO said. "The Shri Ram Navmi group on March 30 changed the route and marched on the other route due to which disturbance was created and a clash took place. Police immediately reached the spot and evicted both groups from the area. We have filed a case against the group for not following the permitted route," police said.

West Bengal BJP Lok Sabha MP Jagannath Sarkar has demanded that National Investigation Agency should investigate the root cause of violence in Howrah during Ram Navami celebrations, as reported by the news agency ANI. In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Sarkar requested "the intervention of Central forces to prevent the spread of repression in Howrah, demands NIA investigate the root cause of riots."

Violence In West Bengal
Several vehicles were set on fire after two groups clashed in Howrah amid Ram Navami celebrations. During the procession, the rioters vandalised public and private properties and set vehicles on fire. Following the violence in Howrah during Ram Navami celebrations, the West Bengal government on Friday handed over the probe to Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Violence In Jharkhand
Stone pelting and violence on Ram Navami continued till late at night on Friday as clashes broke out between two groups in Jamshedpur's Haldipokhar area in Jharkhand. Stones were pelted during a Ram Navami immersion procession here after a group opposed the procession. The other group then organised a 'Hanuman Chalisa' recitation to their response. ANI reported citing police that around five people got injured in the arson and that situation is peaceful. However, to avert any untoward incident in the area, a heavy security presence has been ensured in the locality.
Violence In Bihar
The local administration in Bihar's Sasaram city imposed Section 144 after clashes broke out between two groups during Ram Navami procession on Friday. According to the police, people resorted to stone pelting and also vandalised several vehicles and roadside stalls. After receiving information about the clash, police immediately reached the spot to control the situation.
"There is tension between both groups, and stone pelting also occurred. Some houses were set on fire. The fire is being doused. The administration came to the spot and calmed them down. The situation is under control now,' said ADM Chandrashekhar, as reported by ANI.
A few police personnel also sustained injuries as they tried to control the situation when clashes broke out between the two groups in the city. Violence was also reported from Nalanda's Gagan Diwan area during the Ram Navami procession. Stone pelting and arson of vehicles also occurred during the clashes between the two groups, reported ANI.
Violence In Maharashtra
Tension prevailed in Mumbai's Malvani area as two groups clashed with each other during a Ram Navami procession on Thursday night.
A man was reportedly injured in the incident, police said on Friday. Some of the participants alleged stone pelting, which created panic among people, DCP Bansal said. The situation in the area was under control, said the official. Further probe is underway, police said.
