After performing Puja, PM is headed for a stage event. Congress warily welcomes 'Bhumi Pujan' for Ram temple
Congress has cautiously welcomed the 'Bhumi Pujan' for the Ram temple performed in Ayodhya by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also praised Lord Ram while Congress MP Shashi Tharoor tweeted "Lord Shri Ram epitomises justice for all, righteous conduct, fairness and firmness in all dealings, moral rectitude and courage."

IUML calls emergency meeting after Congress welcomes 'Bhumi Pujan'
The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) - the second-biggest constituent of the Congress-led UDF in Kerala - has called an emergency meeting of its top brass here on Wednesday, after several Congress leaders welcomed the Bhumi Pujan ceremony in Ayodhya to start construction of the Ram temple.
Top Congress leaders, including party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, among others, have spoken in favour of the ceremony and IUML leaders have expressed their dissatisfaction over the matter to state Congress leaders.

Ayodhya Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan HIGHLIGHTS: After the prolonged wait of 500 years, the devotees of Lord Ram rejoiced again as Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the much awaited Ram Temple after performing the Bhoomi Pujan. He arrived at the Ram Janmabhoomi site for the first time in 29 years. "We'll have to remember that whenever mankind believed in Lord Ram, progress took place. Whenever we deviated from path, doors to destruction opened. We'll have to keep everyone's sentiments in mind. We've to ensure everyone's development with support & trust of all," said PM Modi.
At the Ayodhya site, he offered prayers to Ram Lalla and performed 'sashtang pranam' (prostration) at Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya.. He also performed darshan-pujan at Hanumangarhi Mandir, followed by puja of Ram Lalla at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. He was received by CM Yogi Adityanath on arriving at Ayodhya.
According to sources, those leaders including LK Advani and others, who are connected with the Ayodhya controversy have not been invited. Once the foundation ceremony gets over, the PM is expected to address the nation in an hour-long speech which will be attended by several other dignitaries.
