As Telangana continues to receive incessant rainfall, the water level of Godavari in Bhadrachalam has been rising. Bhadradri Kothagudem District Collector Priyanka Ala said, "About 27 colonies & villages have been evacuated. A total of 790 families, consisting of 2321 members have been evacuated so far. We have taken up rescue operations and it is continuing since last night," as quoted by ANI.

Parts Of Delhi Get Moderate To Heavy Rainfall

Parts of Delhi recorded moderate to heavy rain Wednesday morning leading to waterlogging and disruption in road traffic.  The showers brought the temperature down to 23.8 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal. The maximum temperature is likely to settle around 33 degrees Celsius.  The last few days saw the maximum temperatures hovering around 38 degrees Celsius. Along with high humidity, the above-normal temperatures had caused distress to city residents.    The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert, warning of moderate rain during the day. A yellow alert has been issued for Thursday.


The Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi's primary weather station, recorded 37.1 mm of rainfall in 24 hours ending 8:30 am on Wednesday, the IMD data showed.

Five Places In Andhra Pradesh Log Very Heavy Rainfall In 24 Hours, More Rains Predicted Till Friday

As many as five places in coastal Andhra Pradesh have recorded very heavy rainfall in the 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, said a Meteorological department official on Wednesday, as reported by the news agency PTI. Narsipatnam in Anakapalli district and Nuziveedu in Eluru district logged rainfall of 12 centimetres each. Eluru town in the eponymous district witnessed 11 cm rainfall, followed by Chintur in Alluri Sitaramaraju district and Machilipatnam in Krishna district recording 10 cm each, the official told PTI on Wednesday.


According to rainfall classification by the India Meteorological Department, downpour within a 24-hour period of 64.5 mm (6.45 cm) to 115.5 mm (11.5 cm) is considered heavy rain, and 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm is considered very heavy rain.

Rain Lashes South Odisha, One Person Dead In Malkangiri

Heavy rain under the influence of a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal is lashing most part of Odisha’s southern region and a person was washed away in Malakangiri district, which is facing flash floods yet again, officials said on Wednesday, as reported by PTI. Malkangiri, which experienced flash floods last week, recorded the highest rainfall of 80.4 mm since Tuesday followed by 53 mm in Ganjam. In Kandhamal district Phiringia reported 34.8 mm at Phiringia and 33 mm in Kalinga, they said.


The Met office has sounded orange warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput districts. Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj.

Rain LIVE Updates: Yamuna Flows Below Danger Mark, But Rain Causes Concern

The Yamuna river in Delhi flowed below the danger mark of 205.33 meters on Wednesday but is expected to rise again following heavy rain in parts of the capital and upper catchment areas in the morning, as reported by PTI. According to the Central Water Commission (CWC), the water level at the Old Railway Bridge (ORB) stood at 205.09 metres at 9 am.


The Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi's primary weather station, recorded 37.1 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours that ended at 8:30 am, meteorological office data showed. The weather stations at Lodhi Road, Ayanagar, Mungeshpur and Mayur Vihar gauged 35.1 mm, 26 mm, 53.5 mm and 110.5 mm of precipitation.


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rain in parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till July 27.

Large parts of India continue to battle flood and waterlogging issues as rain continues to lash the states of Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Gujarat, and Delhi. Huge loss of lives and damage to property have been reported with several instances of landslides and rockslides. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued 'Red', 'Orange', and 'Yellow' alerts for several states and districts.


The water level of the Yamuna river in Delhi has started to rise again after fresh spells of rain lashed parts of the national capital on Wednesday. The river was overflowing at 205.08 metres, as recorded by the Central Water Commission at 8 am. People living in the relief camps amid flooding are now battling new problems now such as the spread of Eye flu. The residents of Uttar Pradesh's Noida woke up to a similar view as heavy rain lashed parts of the city here as well this morning. Amid incessant rain, the Hindon river has been swelling up due to which a number of cars got submerged in the area near Ecotech 3.


The situation in Himachal Pradesh continues to look grim as the massive flood-like situations persist. Following a cloudburst in Kullu's Gadsa valley, high-current flood water obliterated houses nearby. District officials were seen using cranes to clear the debris due to landslides and heavy rain in the state following the cloudburst. Many uprooted trees were also seen lying along the streets. The cloudburst also disrupted the power supply in the area and caused immense damage to the agricultural land, said officials. According to a report by news agency PTI, at least two bridges and several cattle are feared to have been washed away due to the cloudburst.


The situation in Maharashtra is also worsening. Amid incessant downpours, IMD has issued a 'Red' alert for Raigarh, Pune, Satara and Ratnagiri districts for 26th July. The weather bureau has also issued an 'Orange' alert for Mumbai, Palghar and Thane.


IMD sounded a 'Red' alert for the state of Telangana till Thursday. IMD Hyderabad Director Dr K Nagaratna while talking to news agency ANI said that extremely heavy Rainfall over the eastern districts is expected to happen. Hyderabad and adjoining districts are likely to have very heavy rainfall. One person has died in Hyderabad after asbestos sheets fell on him amid heavy rains and thunderstorms in Telangana. The rainfall has also caused widespread waterlogging and flooding in various parts of the city. Roads and low-lying areas remained inundated on Tuesday, leading to disruptions in vehicular traffic and crippling normal life. The situation was grim in areas like Saidabad, Singareni Officers' Colony, Kodandaram Nagar, Saroornagar, Gajularamaram, and Malkampet where water entered residential areas. To ensure the safety of people, authorities shifted residents from low-lying, inundated areas to safer places.
