Breaking News LIVE: Centre To Hold High Level Meeting Over Monkey Pox Today

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday said that a high-level review meeting on Monkeypox will be held by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today afternoon. "A 34-year-old male resident of Delhi was isolated at Lok Nayak Hospital as a suspected case of Monkeypox. A confirmation of the diagnosis has been done by the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune," said the Ministry. The case is presently recovering at the designated isolation centre at Lok Nayak Hospital. The close contacts of the case have been identified are under quarantine as per the MoHFW guidelines, informed the govt. "Further public health interventions like identification of the source of infection, enhanced contact tracing, testing sensitisation of private practitioners etc are being carried out. A high-level review of the situation has been planned by DGHS at 3 pm today," added the Ministry

The last rites of Mathura-based seer Vijay Das, who died days after setting himself on fire while protesting against illegal mining in Rajasthan's Bharatpur district, were held in Barsana here on Saturday.


Das (65) died at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital in the early hours of Saturday. He was among the seers, who had gone to Pasopa village in Deeg tehsil of Rajasthan's Bharatpur district to protest illegal mining.


His protest started January 16, 2021, and lasted for 550 days. On July 20, he poured a highly inflammable liquid on himself in the presence of police force, secretary of Mataji Gaushala of Barsana Sunil Das said.

Outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind To Address Nation On Sunday


Outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind will address the nation on Sunday, a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement issued on Saturday said. The address will be broadcast from 7 pm on the entire network of All India Radio and telecast on all channels of Doordarshan in Hindi followed by the English version, it said.


Broadcast of the address in Hindi and English on Doordarshan will be followed by broadcast in regional languages by regional channels of Doordarshan, the statement said.


Droupadi Murmu was elected to be the next President of India on Thursday after she comprehensively defeated the opposition's presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha.


CMs, Dy CMs Of BJP-Ruled States To Meet In Delhi Today


Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states will be held at BJP Headquarters on Sunday. BJP President JP Nadda and senior leader BL Santosh will chair the meeting. The coordination meeting of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of BJP ruled states regarding "Good Governance" will be held at BJP Headquarters from 2 pm today.

Rajnath Singh To Embark On One-Day J&K Visit Today


Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will be on a one-day visit to Jammu on Sunday. During this, the Defense Minister will meet the military commanders based in Jammu and pay tribute to the martyrs of Kargil war. Will take stock of operational preparedness by visiting the forward location.


The Chief of Army Staff will also accompany the Defence Minister. On the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and RSS co-worker Dattatreya Hausbale are coming to Jammu on Sunday to pay homage to the brave sons who laid down their lives for the country.
