Umar Khalid, Former JNU student leader and accused in the larger Conspiracy of Delhi Riots case, has moved a Delhi's Karkardooma Court seeking regular bail in the matter. He has been in custody since September 2020. The court has sought response from Delhi police on the bail application of Umar Khalid. It is his second bail application seeking regular bail. The matter has been listed on March 11, 2024, for reply and arguments on bail.

PM Modi To Launch Development Projects, Attend Public Programme In Yavatmal On Wednesday
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and dedicate to the nation various development projects during a public programme to be held in Maharashtra's Yavatmal district on Wednesday, officials said.
The programme will be held at Bhari on the outskirts of Yavatmal city around 4.30 pm, the district officials said.
At the event, the prime minister will release benefits under the PM KISAN and other schemes during the programme, a release issued by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said.
The prime minister will also inaugurate the statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya in Yavatmal city.
PM Modi will release the 16th installment amount of more than Rs 21,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) through direct benefits transfer to beneficiaries.
Varanasi Court To Hear Plea Against Puja In Gyanvapi Mosque On Feb 28
A Varanasi court fixed February 28 as the date for hearing the Gyanvapi masjid committee's plea against puja in a cellar of the mosque, the Hindu side’s counsel said.
The Varanasi district court had on January 31 ruled that a priest can perform prayers before the idols in the southern cellar of the Gyanvapi mosque.
The mosque committee moved the court challenging the verdict.
Advocate MM Yadav said Additional District Judge (I) Anil Kumar has fixed February 28 for the hearing.
The mosque committee has also moved a petition in the Allahabad High Court against the district court’s verdict.
President Murmu On Four-Day Visit To Jharkhand, Odisha From Wednesday
President Droupadi Murmu will be on a four-day visit to Jharkhand and Odisha from Wednesday, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said.
The President will grace the third convocation of Central University of Jharkhand in Ranchi on Wednesday.
On the same day, Murmu will lay the foundation stone for the Central Government Holiday Home at Rairangpur, Odisha.
"On the occasion, she will also virtually lay the foundation stones for various road projects and a sports complex at Rairangpur as well as inaugurate Eklavya Model Residential School, Barsahi," according to a statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.
On February 29, the President will interact with the members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups of Kadalibadi village at Gonasika, Keonjhar. Later, she will inaugurate a national seminar on ‘Tribes of Keonjhar: people, culture and heritage’ and address the students of Dharanidhar University at its North Campus, it added.
