The Union Home Ministry, railways and banks have got maximum number of corruption complaints against their employees last year, according to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) latest annual report, which was made public on Wednesday.
Of the total of 1,09,214 complaints received against all category of officers/employees, a highest of 37,670 were against the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), 11,003 against railways and 6,330 against banks, it said.
The railways disposed 10,662 complaints (341 were pending) and banks had disposed 5,887 such plaints (443 were pending disposal – 90 for more than three months), according to the report, which was laid during the recently-concluded session of the Parliament.

Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday was acquitted by a Civil Court in Hajipur in a 2015 case on the grounds of lack of witnesses and evidence. Yadav was accused of making caste-based remarks during a 2015 Bihar Assembly Election campaign and violating model code of conduct.

PM Modi To Inaugurate Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital In Mohali
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Punjab on August 24 and inaugurate the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital in the Mohali district. The Punjab Police has made tight security arrangements for the visit to Mohali's Mullanpur, officials said on Tuesday.
Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Center will have the 300-bed facility and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities like MRI, CT, Mammography, Digital Radiography and Brachytherapy.
The center will have all the treatment modalities available for the treatment of every type of cancer which includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy and bone marrow transplant. The hospital has been built by the Tata Memorial Center at a cost of over Rs 660 crore.
Bihar Floor Test: Nitish Kumar-Led ‘Mahagathbandhan’ To Face Trust Vote
After becoming the Chief Minister for the eighth time, the floor test of the Nitish Kumar-led government will be held on August 24. The new government led by Nitish Kumar with the support of all parties including JDU, RJD, Congress, HAM, will prove majority in the Bihar Assembly.
On August 10, a new government was formed in Bihar. Nitish Kumar took an oath as the Chief Minister, while Tejashwi Yadav took an oath as the Deputy CM.
At present, there are 242 members in the Bihar Legislative Assembly and the magic figure of getting the majority is 122. JD(U) has 45 of its MLAs and is supported by an independent MLA, while RJD has 79 MLAs. Congress has 19 MLAs, 12 CPI-ML MLAs, and two MLAs each from the Communist Party of India (CPI) and Communist Party of Marxist (CPI-M) have also given them letters of support. Four MLAs of Hindustani Awam Morcha are also with Kumar.
