A grenade was hurled by terrorist(s) towards security forces on Ali Jan road, Eidgah. Due to this, a CRPF jawan got minor injuries. Cordon and Search operations have been launched to nab culprit(s): Srinagar Police


"One grenade was lobbed by terrorist(s) towards security forces on Ali jan road, Eidgah. This caused minor splinter injuries to one CRPF personnel. Cordon and Search operations have been launched to nab culprit(s)," Srinagar police said further.

CUET-UG phase-4: UGC says exam for postponed from Aug 17-20 to Aug 24-30 to accommodate city choice for centre

Those who could not take the CUET UG exam in Phase 2 conducted on 4, 5 & 6 Aug either due to technical reasons or due to cancellation of the Centre, will be allowed to appear in Phase 6 which will be held from 24 to 30 August. Their Admit Cards will be released on 20 August, NTA announced.


Some candidates who were scheduled to take the Exam in Phase 3 ie 7, 8 & 10 Aug were informed that they will be taking the Examination on 21, 22 & 23 Aug. Their Admit Cards mentioning centres of exam will be released on 17 Aug. Their dates & cities of exams being given today, it stated.


A total of 3.72 lakh candidates will be appearing in Phase 4. There are about 11,000 candidates have been moved to Phase 6 and their examination will be held on 30 August 2022. They have also been intimated about their city of examination and exact date today: NTA

Overcast sky in Delhi, Rains Likely From Today


Cloudy weather and strong surface winds are predicted in the city on Thursday while light to moderate rainfall is likely in the capital for a few days from Saturday, forecasting agencies told news agency PTI. The Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi's primary weather station, recorded a minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal for this time of the year.


The maximum temperature is likely to settle around 35 degrees Celsius. Delhi and other parts of northwest India have not seen much rainfall over the last few days as the monsoon trough continues to be over central parts of the country.


Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia To Hold 'Tiranga' Rally Today


Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) will on Saturday organise a 'Tiranga' rally to celebrate 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', the university said in a statement.
To be flagged off by Vice-Chancellor Najma Akhtar, the rally will pass through the campus and nearby areas of the varsity located in south Delhi's Jamia Nagar, it said.


Students and staff members will distribute national flags in nearby localities to encourage people to hoist it atop their homes to mark the 75th year of India's Independence on August 15.


The varsity is also organising a number of programmes to celebrate 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' and to make the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign successful, the statement said.
