CAA Will Be Implemented After Covid-19 Vaccination Drive Ends, Says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah Thursday said the process of granting Indian citizenship to refugees under the CAA, including to the Matua community of West Bengal, will begin once the process of Covid-19 vaccination has ended.



"As soon as the Covid-19 vaccination process ends the process of granting citizenship under CAA will begin," he said, addressing a rally here in the bastion of the Matua community.


 

Have Faith In EVM, No Return Of Ballot Papers In Maha: Ajit Pawar

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday expressed complete faith in electronic voting machines (EVMs) and asserted the state government does not want the use of ballot papers in polls. 17 States, UTs Report No Covid Death In Last 24 Hrs: Govt

While the country recorded 108 deaths due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, a matter of relief for the nation is that they were limited to a few states and union territories as 17 states have not reported any fatality due to Covid-19, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.


The ministry informed that 17 states and UTs including Telangana, Gujarat, Assam, Haryana, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Lakshadweep, Ladakh, Sikkim, Manipur, Mizoram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Daman & Diu, have not reported any Covid death in the last 24 hours.
