Maharashtra on Thursday recorded 46,197 fresh coronavirus cases, including 125 Omicron infections, and 37 new deaths, while more than 52,000 patients recovered from the disease.
Bengal reports 10,959 new Covid-19 cases and 37 deaths in the last 24 hours. Positivity rate of the state now stands at 16.27 per cent.
Karnataka reported 47,754 fresh Covid-19 cases, 22,143 recoveries, and 29 deaths in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate stands at 18.48% & active cases are 2,93,231.
Delhi reported 12,306 fresh cases of Covid-19 cases on Thursday, a marginal decline in infections compared to yesterday. In the last 24 hours, the capital city also logged 18,815 recoveries and 43 deaths. With this, the active cases in Delhi touched 68,730 mark with positivity rate being at 21.48%.
Kerala has reported as many as 46,387 new Covid-19, 15,388 recoveries and 32 deaths in the last 24 hours. 309 deaths were added to Covid death list as per the guidelines of Central government. Death toll stands at 51,501

As many as 9,287 Omicron cases have been detected so far in India. As many as 3,17,532 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours.
West Bengal on Wednesday registered 11,447 new COVID-19 cases, 1,017 more than the previous day's figure, pushing the tally to 19,28,261, the health department said in a bulletin. Thirty-eight fresh fatalities due to COVID-19, including 14 from Kolkata, took the toll to 20,193.
North 24 Parganas district reported seven deaths, followed by five in Hooghly, and three each in Howrah and Hooghly districts, the bulletin said.
The state capital accounted for 2,154 new cases, 51 less than Tuesday, while North 24 Parganas district registered 1,798 infections.
As many as 15,418 people were cured of the disease during the day and the discharge rate improved marginally to 91.09 per cent from 90.83 per cent on Tuesday, the bulletin said.
All districts in Delhi have been given targets by the Centre according to the active cases there to increase the number of Covid tests being conducted. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said the city had been conducting 50,000 to 60,000 coronavirus tests daily for the last six months. This could be raised further to 75,000-80,000 tests per day in view of the latest guidelines.

Coronavirus HIGHLIGHTS: Following the Centre's instruction to states and union territories, all districts in Delhi have been given targets according to the active cases there to increase the number of Covid tests being conducted, PTI reported.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said the city had been conducting 50,000 to 60,000 coronavirus tests daily for the last six months. This could be raised further to 75,000-80,000 tests per day in view of the latest guidelines.
Meanwhile, Kerala Health Minister Veena George warned the public on Wednesday about the 'super-spread' of the Covid pandemic, claiming that the state was seeing a third wave.
"Delta (variant) was the reason for more cases during the second wave. The third wave happened before it was completely over. Now, both Delta and Omicron are contributing to the surge in COVID cases," Kerala Health Minister was quoted by PTI in its report.
In other news, an expert panel of India's federal drug regulator on Wednesday recommended providing regular market permission to Covid vaccines Covishield and Covaxin, which are presently only approved for emergency use in the country, subject to specific restrictions, as per the official sources.
