In a brief statement, the defence ministry said the "training launch" of the missile was carried out at around 7:30 pm.It is learnt that the missile has a range of around 4,000 kilometres, and it is largely seen as part of India's deterrence against China. The defence ministry said the successful test of Agni-4 reaffirms India's policy of having a 'credible minimum deterrence capability'."A successful training launch of an Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missile, Agni-4, was carried out at approximately 1930 hours on June 6 from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha," the ministry said."The successful test was part of routine user training launches carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command," it said. Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday survived a vote of confidence in his leadership, as 211 Conservative Party members of Parliament voted in favour of him staying on as their leader.It rounded off a frenzied day of political high drama and speculation as Johnson, 57, made personal pleas to his party backbenchers to keep their faith in him as Prime Minister, despite the bruising partygate scandal of COVID law-breaking parties at Downing Street and across government offices.The vote is held as a secret ballot, with 180 being the cut off for Johnson to win the challenge given the halfway mark of the Tory parliamentary party membership of 359 if abstentions are not taken into account.

Breaking News LIVE: 32 Nominations Filed In Total For Delhi's Rajinder Nagar Bypoll

Thirty-two nominations in all have been received for the upcoming bypoll to the Rajinder Nagar Assembly seat in Delhi, poll authorities said on Monday.

June 6 was the last date to file nomination for the contest.

While AAP has fielded its MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak, BJP has nominated former councillor Rajesh Bhatia as its candidate for the June 23 bypoll, results for which will be declared on June 26.

Congress has fielded its former municipal councillor Prem Lata for this seat.

According to the information shared on the website of the Chief Electoral Office (CEO), Delhi, 32 nominations have been received in total.

Of these, 21 candidates have applied, some of whom have filed multiple nominations.

Seven independents have also filed nominations, as per the information shared on the website.

The bypoll to the Rajinder Nagar Assembly seat was scheduled in the wake of AAP leader Raghav Chadha leaving the seat after being elected to the Rajya Sabha recently.
