The Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi arrived in Srinagar on three days visit to Kashmir from 15 to 17 May 2022. He would be visiting forward posts on the Line of Control and the hinterland to review the overall security situation in the Kashmir Valley.

The Army on Wednesday carried out a rescue mission evacuating eight people buried under debris, following a landslide in East Sikkim, officials said.
The troops of the Black Cat Division' swung into action and rescued the people at 17th Mile, they said, adding, one of them died in hospital.
All the evacuees were admitted to the nearest military hospital, the officials said.

Supreme Court To Hear Petition Against UP Demolitions
The petition of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, seeking a stay on the action of bulldozers in Uttar Pradesh, will be heard in the Supreme Court. The petition has sought directions to the UP government to ensure that no more bulldozers ply on the properties of those accused of the recent violence in the state.
In April, Jamiat had moved the Supreme Court against the removal of encroachment action in Delhi's Jahangirpuri area. The special thing is that a day earlier on Tuesday, some retired judges and lawyers of the Supreme Court and High Court had written a letter to the CJI, appealing to take cognizance of the bulldozer action in UP and to hear it.
National Herald Case: Rahul Gandhi Gets A Day Off, To Be Grilled By ED Again
The enforcement directorate (ED) has asked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to appear on Friday to rejoin the National Herald case probe, said an ED source. For the third consecutive day, Rahul was questioned for over nine hours by the probing agency on Wednesday. Several Congress leaders, including Sachin Pilot, were detained on Wednesday, with the party alleging that Delhi Police personnel entered the Congress headquarters on Akbar Road and beat up workers.
Rahul Gandhi arrived at the ED headquarters in central Delhi around 11.35 am accompanied by his sister and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
