Uttarakhand Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Deepak Bali on Monday resigned from his post and the membership of the party. Bali cited being uncomfortable with the party's methodology as the reason for his resignation. PM Modi to Inaugurate Temple, Attend Mumbai Samachar's 200th Anniversary Event
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday will inaugurate 17th-century saint Tukaram Maharaj temple in Dehu, Pune, an official statement said on Monday. A prominent name in the Bhakti development, Tukaram was a warkari saint and writer. He was known for 'abhanga' devotional poetry and community-oriented worship through spiritual songs known as kirtans. He lived in Dehu close to Pune. A Shila Mandir was built after his death, however, it was not officially organised as a temple. It has been remade in stone workmanship with 36 pinnacles, and furthermore conveys a symbol of Sant Tukaram, the statement said.
After this, he will leave for Mumbai and will inaugurate the Jal Bhushan Building and Gallery of Revolutionaries at Raj Bhavan Mumbai during his day-long visit to Maharashtra.
Government Likely To Announce Agnipath Recruitment Scheme
The Center is likely to announce the Agneepath Recruitment Scheme for Defense Forces on Tuesday. Under this, the soldiers will be recruited for a tenure of four years only. As per the plan, the chiefs of the three services will address a press conference to announce the details of the plan.
The chiefs of the three services had briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi two weeks ago about the Agneepath scheme for recruiting soldiers, which would pave the way for inducting soldiers into the security forces for a short term. The scheme is being implemented by the Department of Military Affairs.
