Gangster With Rs 1 Lakh Bounty Killed In Encounter In UP

The Jaunpur police in Uttar Pradesh killed a gangster with a reward of Rs 1 lakh in an encounter. A joint team of Jaunpur police and Badlapur police recovered an AK 47, a 9 mm pistol, and an SUV from the accused.

Sumit Singh from Bihar was killed in a 25-hour encounter. Two of Monu's associates managed to escape. Sumit, originally from Mau, was currently living in Bihar. Sumit Singh used to work for Shahabuddin's gang in Bihar.

A total of three dozen cases were registered against him in UP and Bihar.

Of these, about 10 cases were of murder. Sumit Singh alias Monu Chavanni had also committed murders in Jaunpur and Mau.
