Mishra said idol is likely to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday, he said. According to news agency PTI, a special puja was held in the sanctum sanatorum before the idol was brought inside.The idol was brought to the temple in a truck. Rituals are being performed in the run-up to the January 22 consecration ceremony at the Ram temple. A 'Kalash Pujan' was held earlier on Wednesday.The rituals will continue till January 21 and on the day of the consecration, minimum essential rituals needed for the 'Pran Pratishtha' of the idol of Ram Lalla will be conducted, according to Ram temple trust officials.Amit Shah To Visit Assam, Meghalaya From Jan 18-20 Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to undertake a three-day visit to Assam and Meghalaya beginning January 18 during which he will attend the plenary session of the North Eastern Council, the passing out parade of Assam Police commandos and inaugurate a cyber security operational centre, sources said on Wednesday.Shah will also take part in the 61st Raising Day celebrations of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Tezpur, Assam. Uddhav-Led Sena Faction's MLA Faces ACB Heat: 7 Locations Raided In Ratnagiri In Graft Case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday conducted raids at seven premises linked to Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Rajan Salvi in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, and filed a case against him and two family members for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets, an official said, as reported by news agency PTI.

The raids, which started in the morning and went on till around 9 pm, covered seven locations linked to the opposition legislator, including his house, office and hotel, in the coastal district, around 360km from Mumbai, he said. The ACB's Thane unit, which conducted the raids, has started recording the statement of Salvi, said the official.

2 Convicted By NIA Special Court In Fake Currency Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) Special Court, Lucknow (UP), today convicted and sentenced two accused, Phulchand and Aminul Islam to 5 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine in a 2019 fake currency seizure case. Earlier, a juvenile accused in the case had already been sentenced in January 2020 to two years, 1 month and 10 days imprisonment by the Juvenile Justice Board, Lucknow.
