The Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued show cause notices to officials of Google and Facebook on a contempt petition which claimed the two firms had not removed objectionable posts against Hindu spiritual leader Dhirendra Krishna Shastri despite the court's order, as reported by news agency PTI.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday conducted raids at seven premises linked to Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Rajan Salvi in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, and filed a case against him and two family members for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets, an official said, as reported by news agency PTI.
The raids, which started in the morning and went on till around 9 pm, covered seven locations linked to the opposition legislator, including his house, office and hotel, in the coastal district, around 360km from Mumbai, he said. The ACB's Thane unit, which conducted the raids, has started recording the statement of Salvi, said the official.

Earlier, a juvenile accused in the case had already been sentenced in January 2020 to two years, 1 month and 10 days imprisonment by the Juvenile Justice Board, Lucknow.

Ram Lalla Idol Brought Inside Temple's Sanctum Sanctorum, Likely To Be Installed On Thursday
The idol of Ram Lalla was brought inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple in ayodhya on Wednesday night, Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee chairperson Nripendra Mishra said. Mishra said idol is likely to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday, he said. According to news agency PTI, a special puja was held in the sanctum sanatorum before the idol was brought inside.
The idol was brought to the temple in a truck. Rituals are being performed in the run-up to the January 22 consecration ceremony at the Ram temple. A 'Kalash Pujan' was held earlier on Wednesday.
The rituals will continue till January 21 and on the day of the consecration, minimum essential rituals needed for the 'Pran Pratishtha' of the idol of Ram Lalla will be conducted, according to Ram temple trust officials.
Amit Shah To Visit Assam, Meghalaya From Jan 18-20
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to undertake a three-day visit to Assam and Meghalaya beginning January 18 during which he will attend the plenary session of the North Eastern Council, the passing out parade of Assam Police commandos and inaugurate a cyber security operational centre, sources said on Wednesday.
Shah will also take part in the 61st Raising Day celebrations of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Tezpur, Assam. After arriving in Shillong on Thursday, Shah will inaugurate a cyber security operational centre of the Assam Rifles on the premises of the paramilitary force's headquarters in the capital of Meghalaya.
PM Modi To Lay Foundation Stones Of 8 AMRUT Projects In Maharashtra On January 19
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate or lay the foundation stones of several development projects at Solapur in Maharashtra on January 19, PTI eported, citing an official release in Mumbai.
At a public program to be held around 10.45 am in the southern Maharashtra city, he will lay the foundation stones of eight AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) projects in the state worth around Rs 2,000 crore, it said.
