Breaking News LIVE: Amarnath Yatra Resumes After Day’s Suspension

Amarnath Yatra resumed on Tuesday after a day’s suspension as another batch of 1,873 Yatris left Jammu for the North Kashmir Baltal base camp.


Officials of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB, which manages the affairs of the Yatra, said that since the day the pilgrimage started on June 29 this year, around five lakh devotees had ‘darshan’ inside the holy cave shrine.


“No Yatri convoy is going to the South Kashmir Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camp today. Only one escorted convoy of 69 vehicles carrying 1,873 Yatris left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu at 3.25 a.m. for the North Kashmir Baltal base camp. No Yatri is going to Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camp today. Now only the ‘Chhari Mubarak’ (Lord Shiva’s Mace) will be carried through the traditional Pahalgam route to the cave shrine. The Chhari Mubarak will leave Pahalgam for the cave shrine on August 14,” the officials said, as quoted by news agency IANS.

CM Adityanath To Visit Ayodhya On Tuesday


Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will start his two-day visit to Ayodhya on Tuesday, as per an official statement. On Tuesday morning, Adityanath will visit the Hanumangarhi and Shri Ram Lalla temples. He will then hold a meeting with officials and public representatives to review development projects and law enforcement in Ayodhya, according to the release issued on Monday.


The chief minister will also meet BJP office bearers at the Circuit House and conduct a field inspection of ongoing development works.


On Wednesday, Adityanath will pay tribute at the Samadhi Sthal of Brahmalin Paramhans Ramchandra Das Maharaj, unveil a statue of the saint at Digambar Akhara, and participate in a 'bhandara' programme, the statement said. After these events, the chief minister will leave Ayodhya for Ambedkar Nagar.


Budha Amarnath Yatra To Begin From Jammu On Tuesday


The 12-day 'Budha Amarnath' pilgrimage in the Poonch border district of Jammu and Kashmir will commence on Tuesday with the first batch departing from Jammu under stringent security measures.


Security has been intensified across the border districts of Jammu, Poonch, and Rajouri in anticipation of the annual yatra, which will run until August 17. In preparation, security forces and police have carried out thorough combing operations along the yatra route and in the surrounding areas of Rajouri, Poonch, and Jammu districts, officials reported.


According to PTI, the yatra will begin early Tuesday morning from Bhagwati Nagar en route to Poonch, with heightened security in place. Devotees will then proceed towards Budha Amarnath, according to Neeraj Doneria, national convener of Bajrang Dal.


Doneria noted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the yatra, which started in 2005 amidst a period of militancy.
