Kumaraswamy Will Be Part Of 'Padyatra' Against Karnataka Govt On August 3: BJP

The BJP placated its miffed ally Janata Dal (Secular) into joining its 'padyatra' against the alleged MUDA scam in Karnataka on Thursday. The party confirmed that JD(S) leader and Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy would join the march starting from Bengaluru on August 3.

This development follows JD(S)'s decision on Wednesday to withdraw from the planned march over alleged irregularities in site allocations by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), which also involved Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife.

Speaking to PTI, Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra, Union minister Pralhad Joshi and BJP general secretary Radha Mohan Das Agrawal, who is in charge of the party's affairs in the state, played down Kumaraswamy's earlier announcement of keeping out of the yatra.

Kumaraswamy had expressed frustration over BJP leader Preetham Gowda's involvement as a key organiser of the march, due to Gowda's role in exposing an alleged scandal involving Kumaraswamy's nephew, Prajwal Revanna.
