Delhi on Thursday reported as many as 2,726 new cases of Coronavirus and 6 deaths in the past 24 hours. Positivity rate in the national capital stands at 14.38 per cent.
A blast in a gas pipeline being laid here by Indian Oil Corporation as part of supplying cooking gas to households created panic, police said on Thursday. Members of the public ran helter-skelter following the explosion on the Thaneerpandal-Vilankurichi Road. A preliminary inquiry revealed a leakage in the pipeline while officials were testing the flow of gas that caused the blast, said the police.

Wholesale Markets In Delhi Remain Closed On Aug 11: Traders’ Body
An association of traders said on Wednesday that Delhi's wholesale markets will remain closed on August 11 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
The organisation said that since Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated for two days on August 11 and 12, there was confusion among traders as to when to keep their shops closed or open.
Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) President Brijesh Goyal said in a statement, "Wholesale markets of the city will remain shut on Thursday for Raksha Bandhan while retail markets will be open on both days."
Goyal further said that there is always a holiday in the wholesale markets of Delhi on Raksha Bandhan, but this time due to the festival being two days, there is doubt among the traders.
Noida Twin Towers: Status Report On Demolition Preparation To Be Filed In SC
The Noida Authority will file in the Supreme Court the status report on preparations for the demolition of Supertech's illegal twin towers in the city, officials said, as it appeared that the blast date could be deferred from August 21.
The apex court, which had ordered the demolition of the nearly 100-meter-tall structures, will take up the matter for hearing on August 12, according to the officials.
The twin towers in Sector 93A are so far scheduled to be razed by the controlled implosion at 2.30 pm on August 21. The Supreme Court had ordered their demolition by August 28. The time between August 21 and 28 was kept as a buffer period.
