PM Modi To Inaugurate Phase 1 Of India International Convention, Expo Centre (IICC) In Delhi's Dwarka
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the first phase of the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), named YashoBhoomi, in Dwarka, along with the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line from Dwarka Sector 21 to a new metro station at Dwarka Sector 25 on Sunday.
This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Modi's vision of establishing world-class infrastructure for hosting meetings, conferences, and exhibitions in India, as officials have highlighted. The operational launch of YashoBhoomi in Dwarka is expected to significantly enhance India's capabilities in this regard, PTI reported.
With an expansive project area exceeding 8.9 lakh sq m and a total built-up area surpassing 1.8 lakh sq m, the IICC's YashoBhoomi is poised to become one of the world's largest MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) facilities. The convention centre, spanning over 73,000 sq m, encompasses 15 convention rooms, including the main auditorium, the grand ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms, with a collective capacity to accommodate 11,000 delegates. Additionally, it boasts the country's largest LED media facade, PTI reported citing officials.
PM Modi To Launch 'PM Vishwakarma' Scheme Today:
On the occasion of 'Vishwakarma Jayanti' on September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a new scheme called "PM Vishwakarma" to assist artisans, craftsmen, and those engaged in traditional skills.
According to a statement, Modi has made it a priority to support people involved in traditional crafts not only financially, but also to keep the age-old tradition, culture, and diverse heritage alive and flourishing through local products, art, and crafts.
The scheme, which Modi first announced on Independence Day, will be fully funded by the Union government with a Rs 13,000 crore outlay. Prospective beneficiaries will be registered for free through common service centres using the biometric-based PM Vishwakarma portal under the scheme.

The reconstituted Congress Working Committee (CWC) is convening its inaugural meeting in Hyderabad on Saturday, focusing on crafting a strategy for the forthcoming assembly elections in five states and the Lok Sabha polls scheduled for 2024.
