They added that the JDU wants Nitish Kumar as the convenor which is being opposed by the TMC.This is the second such attempt to hold a virtual meeting as the previous attempt a few days ago did not materialise, the sources added.A TMC source said the party was informed about the meeting on Friday evening, and the West Bengal chief minister has some pre-scheduled appointments due to which she may not attend.The TMC had also offered that the meeting could be held next week. The source added that the party remains committed to the INDIA bloc and defeating the BJP.In a post on 'X', Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said INDIA party leaders will be meeting over Zoom at 11:30 am on January 13, 2024.DDA To Open Outdoor Sports Facilities At Roshanara Club From TodayThe Delhi Development Authority on Friday said it would open the outdoor sports facilities for playing lawn tennis, basketball, cricket and mini football at the historic Roshanara Club here from January 13.The move comes months after the century-old club -- the cradle of Indian cricket - was on September 29 sealed by the Delhi Development Authority, which had taken possession of club.The DDA has decided to open the outdoor sports facilities for playing lawn tennis, basketball, cricket and mini football (futsal) ground of the club, to the general public "w.e.f. 9 am from January 13, 2024 at a nominal price on the basis of pay-and-play," the urban body said in a statement.The club is committed to provide a top-notch sports experience so that fitness enthusiasts can indulge in their favourite outdoor activities. Everyone is requested to come and have the best experience in the salubrious ambience of the club, it added.The historic club was established on August 15, 1922. Endowed with natural beauty, green pastures and colonial-era charm, the Roshanara Club, located in north Delhi, has emerged as one of the most prestigious clubs in the country.

3 Drug Peddlers Arrested In UP's Bareilly With Morphine Worth Rs 1.5 Cr

The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Bareilly on Saturday arrested three alleged drug smugglers and recovered morphine worth around Rs 1.5 crore from them, officials said, as reported by news agency PTI. Following a tip-off on the accused's whereabouts, the ANTF team laid siege in the Bareilly Satellite Bridge area and arrested the drug peddlers, Circle Officer (CO) Anita Chauhan said.

Two mobile phones, Rs 520 and 715 grams of morphine valued around Rs 1.5 crore were recovered from their possession, Chauhan said.

Newly-appointed Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha on Saturday met Sri Lanka's former president Mahinda Rajapaksa and discussed New Delhi's consistent support to Colombo over the last several decades.

"High Commissioner @santjha met former President @PresRajapaksa and discussed Sri Lanka’s age-old relationship with India, as well as India’s consistent support to Sri Lanka over last several decades as a close friend and neighbour," the Indian High Commission said in a post on X. Jha assumed charge as the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka in December 2023.

Breaking LIVE — 4 Terrorists Killed By Security Forces In Northwest Pakistan

Four terrorists were killed by security forces on Saturday in two separate operations in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, bordering Afghanistan, the army said, as reported by news agency PTI.

An intelligence-based operation in the Mir Ali area of the North Waziristan district left two terrorists dead in an intense exchange of fire with the security forces, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, PTI reported.

US Launches Fresh Strikes On Houthi Targets In Yemen As Biden Vows To Keep Pressure On

The United States carried out an additional strike against Yemen's Houthi forces on Friday, two officials told Reuters, after President Joe Biden's administration vowed to protect shipping in the Red Sea.

The latest strike, which one of the U.S. officials said targeted a radar site, came a day after dozens of U.S. and British strikes on the Iran-backed group's facilities.
