An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter Scale struck 143 km southeast of Jakarta, Indonesia, according to the National Center for Seismology, reported ANI.
Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport received a hoax call threatening a bomb at Terminal 1. Promptly responding to the call, the bomb squad and local police conducted a thorough investigation on-site, yet no explosives were found. Mumbai Airport Police swiftly registered a case against an unidentified individual and initiated a search operation to locate the caller, reported ANI.
On the prevailing heat wave conditions in Odisha, weather scientist Umashankar Dash, Regional Meteorological Centre, said “Due to continuous dry spells and northwesterly and westerly dry winds into the state, we are expecting the heatwave to continue for the next few days. We have also issued red alerts for 10 districts and twin cities (Bhubaneswar and Cuttack). As per the data, this year’s spell of continuous heatwave (15 days) is the longest since 2010", reported PTI.

Heatwave Alert For Maharashtra's Thane, Raigad, And Mumbai Today
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has raised a heatwave alert for Thane, Raigad districts, and parts of Mumbai, spanning from April 27 to 29, PTI reported. According to IMD scientist Sushma Nair, an anti-cyclonic circulation over Thane, Raigad, and parts of Mumbai will prompt a surge in temperature, with the peak expected on April 27 and 28. This marks the second heatwave alert issued for Mumbai and its environs this month. Earlier, on April 15 and 16, the region experienced scorching weather, with temperatures in Navi Mumbai soaring to 41 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has offered precautionary advice to mitigate the impact of the impending heatwave. People are urged to avoid prolonged exposure to heat, maintain hydration by drinking sufficient water, opt for light-coloured, loose cotton clothing, cover the head with a wet cloth, hat, or umbrella when outdoors during peak heat hours, and schedule strenuous activities for cooler times of the day.
