Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has asked Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to reconsider the 'Red light on, Gaadi off' campaign, questioning the effectiveness of such an "ad-hoc" measure as the national capital reels under high air pollution level, sources said on Saturday, as reported by PTI.
Ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in Gujarat, the state government hsa decided constitute a committee to evaluate implementing the Uniform Civil Code in the state, said Harsh Sanghvi.
"I felt there is a big racket here, young girls being pushed into flesh trade. Admin has to see if these girls were brought here, girls are also being sent out. Every house here has 5-6 young girls. I feel they are not their own," NCW chief Rekha Sharma said Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, as quoted by ANI.
"I feel they've been brought from somewhere. Admin should get survey & DNA test done. This is a racket to sell off young girls. When I came here in the evening, minor girls were signalling and calling people to them. So, I came with Police here today to check the houses," the NCW chief added.

A cattle runover incident occurred with passing Vande Bharat train today near Atul in Mumbai Central division at 8.17 am. The train was on its journey from Mumbai Central to Gandhinagar. Following the incident, the train was detained for about 15 minutes: Indian Railways.

NE Monsoon Rains Likely Over Southeast Peninsular India: IMD
North-easterly winds are expected to set over the lower tropospheric levels over Bay of Bengal and south peninsular India, leading to northeast monsoon rains over southeast peninsular India from around October 29, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The forecast issued by the MeT department said that a cyclonic circulation currently lies over west central and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal in lower tropospheric levels. A trough also runs from south interior Karnataka to southwest Bay of Bengal across Tamil Nadu in lower tropospheric levels.
“Under the above conditions, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm and lightning is very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on October 29 and 30 and over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema and Kerala and Mahe on October 30,” the IMD forecast read.

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) had extended the registration date for Karnataka NEET UG admission 2022 till Saturday (October 29). Earlier, the candidates were able to register and process the registration fee for Karnataka MBBS counselling 2022 till October 25.
KEA has given one more opportunity to the candidates who could not apply online for Karnataka MBBS counselling 2022 before the deadline. Such candidates can now register and pay the registration fee till October 29, 2022 (4 pm). Candidates who have paid the fees can submit and enter the application details till October 29, 2022 (6 PM), the official notice read.
