External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar has said that India’s permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is “inevitable”. Speaking in Gujarat Wednesday, Jaishankar said former PM Jawaharlal Nehru was in favour of China getting a seat in the UN before India.  Currently, the five permanent members of the Security Council are Russia, China, France, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
