The Congress party has found itself embroiled in a legal tussle with the Income Tax Department ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. On February 16, the Congress treasurer Ajay Maken alleged that the Income Tax Department has frozen four of its bank accounts and has  demanded Rs 210 crore in connection with the party's income tax returns in 2018-19.
