Women's Reservation Bill, first tabled in Parliament in 1996, was passed in Rajya Sabha during the Manmohan Singh government in 2010, and has been awaiting Lok Sabha approval.

As the special session of Parliament kicked off on Monday, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury reiterated the party's demand for the passage of the Women's Reservation Bill by the House.
