PM Modi says NDA has stopped nearly 10 crore fake beneficiaries from depriving the poor of the government's welfare schemes. "We have taken every step to eliminate corruption in India," he says.

In a dig at his predecessor Manmohan Singh and erstwhile Congress president Sonia Gandhi, PM Modi said Congress somehow managed to run the government for 10 years. But its tenure was marked by a PM who had a higher command above him.
PM Modi says that the NDA never sought foreign help to oppose the government elected by the people. "Even when we were in the opposition, we always did positive politics. In opposition, we brought out scams of the then govts but, never insulted the mandate of the people. We never took the help of foreign powers against the ruling governments. We never created hurdles in development schemes meant for the country," PM Modi said.
PM Modi in his address to the NDA members said that the BJP-led alliance was formed to bring stability in the nation.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has hit out at the Opposition, saying the name is a remnant of colonial legacy.
The BJP-led meeting of the National Democratic Alliance has begun at the Kalinga Hall in Ashoka Hotel in Delhi.

Various issues, including the upcoming session of Parliament are being discussed at the meeting. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi and Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Ashwini Vaishnaw and other leaders are present.
Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has arrived in Delhi to take part in the meeting of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.
Praful Patel, NCP leader of the Ajit Pawar faction has arrived in Delhi to attend the NDA meeting. "Everyone has the right to take decisions as per their political parties. Those meeting in Bengaluru will work as per their requirements and we will work as we want," he says.
"All the parties together will share the message of unity of NDA. Political parties from all over the country are coming to Delhi for the NDA meeting today. The next NDA coalition government in 2024 will be even more strong. There is no agenda for seat sharing in today's meeting. The meeting of the frustrated and disappointed parties is taking place in Bengaluru," says Union Minister Anupriya Patel.
Ahead of the NDA meeting, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party founder-president Om Prakash Rajbhar says, "There is nothing like a fight in the country's politics anymore. If you look at UP, there are 80 seats - where will the Opposition win? All 80 seats will be won by the NDA. I think elections are just a formality now, the opposition can make as much noise as they want - it won't serve any purpose...Our alliance is a national-level alliance..."
As the NDA alliance will be meeting today, a crucial meet of the opposition parties in Bengaluru will also be held to prepare strategy for the Lok Sabha elections.
