Shiv Sena UBT MLA Aaditya Thackeray said: "The date (of the oath-taking ceremony) comes from the Governor's Office. We congratulate the person who is going to take the oath but anarchy is seen in the country. Someone has to claim to form Govt, show a majority, and then all this is decided..."
Ajit Pawar revealed on Saturday that the Mahayuti will form a new government with the Chief Minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party. The remaining two allies will have Deputy CMs.
Maharashtra BJP chief said that the new Maharashtra government will be sworn in at Azad Maidan, Mumbai at 5 PM on December 5 in PM Modi's presence.
According to media reports, Shiv Sena Chief Eknath Shinde's health deteriorated due to fever in his native village Satara on Saturday. The doctor has advised him to take rest.
NCP-SCP leader Jitendra Awhad said: "We wanted to have a recounting of the machines that were there on the table along with the data. Now, they are saying that the data has been wiped out and they will show new data, and re-count and show it. Then, no mistake will be seen in it, is it a joke? The data on which we have doubts has been wiped out, so are we blind? All this is done by ECI...After losing the Lok Sabha elections, votes were increased. 46 lakh votes in 4-5 months, only in Maharashtra..."
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat on Saturday claimed attempts were being made to sideline caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat on Saturday insisted that the party must get the crucial home department in the new Maharashtra government.
Shirsat stated that given Shinde's positive image and the work done by him, he would have contributed more if his tenure had gotten two and half years more as the CM.
"The home department should be with the party (Shiv Sena). The department is (usually) with the deputy chief minister. It would not be right if the chief minister heads the home department," he said.
Addressing the BJS National Convention 2024, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said: "We cannot end farmers' suicides till we solve the water issues. Maharashtra has always been 50% water deficient and water conservation is the only thing that can solve this problem... In 2020, the central government generated a water table report which showed a very alarming situation. The water table had gone down in all the states of India, but Maharahstra was the only state in which the water table had risen..."
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday alleged that the poll verdict in Maharashtra was "unnatural" and that there was a sudden rise in the number of votes cast in the last hours of polling, which he claimed was the architect of the Mahayuti's victory in both Maharashtra and Haryana.
"76 lakh votes were polled from 5 pm to 11.30 pm (on November 20 in Maharashtra). What happened to these 76 lakh votes? Similarly, in Haryana, 14 lakh votes rose. This vote rise was the architect of Mahayuti's victory," Raut told reporters.
He stated that the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi was examining the election results and technicalities behind them.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut alleged that the "unnatural" verdict in Maharashtra, which saw Mahayuti winning in Assembly polls, has delayed the announcement of the next Chief Minister for the last eight days. Raut indicated that Eknath Shinde went to his village in Satara district amidst the government formation efforts due to differences in the alliance.
"Eight days have passed since results were declared but Maharashtra has not been able to get a CM. The caretaker CM (Eknath Shinde) has gone to his village. Why is this happening?...The results are unnatural and against the wishes of people. There are agitations all over the state," Raut said. (PTI)
The new government of the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra will be formed on December 5 with Devendra Fadnavis emerging as the frontrunner to become the next chief minister, a senior BJP leader told news agency PTI on Saturday.
Devendra Fadnavis is still the frontrunner in the race for next Maharashtra chief minister and the new government of the Mahayuti alliance will be formed in the state on December 5, a senior BJP leader told PTI.
The Maharashtra BJP will hold a meeting of its core committee on December 2 with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The Election Commission of India has invited a delegtation of the Congress party on December 3 over the party's allegations of rigged elections. In its interim response to Congress, the EC reiterated a transparent process with the involvement of candidates/their agents at every stage.
"ECI assures review of INC’s all legitimate concerns and written response after hearing them in person. In its interim response to INC, ECI reiterates transparent electoral roll updation process with involvement of political parties. The Commission has still assured INC of further review of all its legitimate concerns," said the poll body in a statement.
A Shiv Sena worker in Eknath Shinde's native village in Satara said Shinde should be Maharashtra chief minister. "We have come here from Kolhapur. We have come to congratulate the CM for the work he has done in the last 2.5 years. He is the CM for us and the public. Looking at his work of 2.5 years, he should be made CM, this is what all Shiv Sainiks want," he said.
Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule has countered Sharad Pawar's allegation on EVMs, saying, "He is lying... When Sharad Pawar won the elections in 2017, he appreciated the working of EVM...In 2014, when his daughter NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule and other MPs won the (Lok Sabha) elections, he said nothing [about EVMs]."
NCP-SP president Sharad Pawar has said that elections for the first time have made people very "restless". "There is disappointment among the people. Every day at 11:00 AM, the opposition leaders raise questions in the Parliament. They put forward their point but their demands are not being accepted in the Parliament. This clearly means that Parliamentary democracy is not being followed properly," he said.
He further said: "There is some difference in the votes of EVMs, but at the moment I do not have any proof. Some people have demanded recounting. Whatever is possible in this matter will be done. Some people have applied for recounting. Let's see what happens in that but I do not have much hope from this..."
On Congress leader Bhai Jagtap's 'dog' remark for Election Commission, BJP Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla says, "Insulting constitutional institution has become the identity of Congress. This is not a coincidence, it has become a habit of Congress... Now, they are doubting the Election Commission, when the polls in Jharkhand, J&K, Wayanad, Karnataka, and Telangana, the poll body is fine... In Haryana and Maharashtra, the EC becomes 'kutta' for them... they are the ones who insult the Constitution..."
According to sources in the Mahayuti, the hold up in government formation is because of the indecision over Eknath Shinde's role. The BJP offered Shinde the Deputy Chief Minister's post in the government, but he has not yet responded.
READ MORE: Why Mahayuti Is Not Being Able To Choose A Chief Minister In Maharashtra
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut took a dig at the BJP asking the party's compulsion due to which it has not been able to still choose a chief minister.
"It is shocking. What is the compulsion of BJP that despite having such a big majority, leaders like PM Modi and Amit Shah, whose orders are obeyed by everyone, are still not able to give a Chief Minister to Maharashtra?" Raut said.

The suspense over who will get to sit in the chief minister's chair continues as the Mahayuti alliance is yet to reach a consensus on government formation in Maharashtra.
On Thursday, Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar met with Union Minister Amit Shah over the issue but the meeting did not result in any outcome. Moreover, Shinde reportedly demanded ministerial berths of key portfolios in the Maharashtra cabinet in the situation where he is not made the chief minister.
The next meeting of the Mahayuti alliance was scheduled to be held in Mumbai but the situation accelerated when Shinde called off the meeting and went to his native place in Satara.
Before leaving for Satara, Shinde held a meeting with Jitendra Awhad, an MLA from Mumbra and a prominent leader of the NCP's Sharad Pawar faction, further adding fuel to the fire.
Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant, however, dismissed speculation that caretaker Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was upset and hence left for his native village.
Samant said Shinde was unwell when he met Shah. Asked about the meeting between Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar that was supposed to take place in Mumbai, Samant said, "If the meeting does not take place physically, it can also be held through video conference." "He (Shinde) is not upset. Even in Delhi, he was down with a fever and cold. It will be wrong to say he has gone to Dare because he is upset," the Sena leader maintained.
"Anyone can face health issues, and if he has gone to a good place (for health reasons), there is no point in concluding that he is upset," Samant added.
He also hinted at a "big decision" from Shinde in the next 24 hours ending Saturday.
“Whenever Eknath Shinde thinks that he needs some time to think he goes to his native village...When he (Eknath Shinde) has to make a big decision he goes to his native village. By tomorrow evening he (Eknath Shinde) will take a very big decision...,” Shirsat said.
