Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday slammed the government over the State Bank of India moving the Supreme Court seeking an extension of time to disclose electoral bond details, terming it a last-ditch attempt before the Lok Sabha polls to hide Prime Minister Narendra Modi's real face.
The State Bank of India (SBI) on Monday moved the Supreme Court seeking an extension of time till June 30 to disclose details of each electoral bond encashed by political parties. In its verdict last month, the top court directed the SBI to furnish the details to the poll panel by March 6.
In a post in Hindi on X, Gandhi said, Narendra Modi has put his entire force in order to hide the 'donation business'.
"Very soon our manifesto will be released. All I can say is that we are not 'jumlebaaz' and we fulfill whatever guarantees we give," says Congress leader Ranjeet Ranjan on the party's manifesto ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. (PTI)

In the final official meeting of the Union Council of Ministers before the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a brainstorming session on the vision paper for 'Viksit Bharat 2047. According to government sources, the ministers discussed a comprehensive five-year action plan. The meeting comes a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) revealed its initial list of candidates for 195 seats across 16 states, indicating that it is certain of winning a third term in government.
The full bench of the Election Commission (EC) arrived in West Bengal on Sunday to oversee the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections in the state, officials said.During the three-day visit, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar along with Election Commissioner Arun Goel will meet representatives of all political parties in the state, and hold a meeting with district magistrates and superintendents of police, they said.It will also meet Chief Electoral Officer Aariz Aftab, and is also slated to hold a meeting with Chief Secretary BP Gopalika and DGP Rajeev Kumar.The visit is primarily aimed at taking stock of the law and order situation in the state, and overseeing the preparations for the Lok Sabha polls, officials said.
