I.N.D.I.A. bloc partners Congress and CPI in Andhra Pradesh have struck a seat sharing deal for the ensuing simultaneous polls, entailing the CPI to contest one Lok Sabha and eight Assembly seats. As per the agreement reached on Thursday, CPI will contest the Guntur Lok Sabha constituency, while the Assembly segments include Vijayawada West, Visakhapatnam West, Anantapur and Pattikonda.
Other Assembly constituencies allocated to the CPI are Tirupati, Rajampet, Eluru and Kamalapuram. “Congress party will leave one Parliament constituency, namely Guntur to the CPI to contest. Congress party will leave the following eight Assembly constituencies to CPI to contest,” the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) said in a press release on Thursday night, as quoted by PTI.
The BJP manifesto committee for the Lok Sabha polls held its second meeting on Thursday, with its members, including panel head and Union Minister Rajnath Singh, deliberating on a host of suggestions that the party has received from various quarters, as reported by news agency PTI.
BJP leaders and Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal, Smriti Irani, Dharmendra Pradhan, Ashwani Vaishnaw, Kiren Rijiju and Arjun Ram Meghwal were among those who attended the meeting at the party's headquarters here. Communist Party of India (CPI) will release the Party manifesto for the Lok Sabha Election, on 6th April in Delhi at the Party office: D Raja CPI General Secretary told news agency ANI.
Ahead of Congress's release of its manifesto, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini told reporters, "Every party comes up with their manifesto, however, a party who was in power for years and despite being in power, today are putting up hoarding seeking votes...Today, they are giving guarantees just for votes; the state does not trust Congress' guarantees."

On the seat distribution in Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) ahead of Lok Sabha Polls 2024, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut told reporters that all the 48 seats in Maharashtra belong to MVA and not particularly to Shiv Sena (UBT) or Congress.
"Shiv Sena (UBT) has a clear vision of winning all the seats (of MVA). Some people could be furious about Shiv Sena having Sangli seat... Amravati and Kolhapur were our seats, but we explained to our workers... If some Congress people are furious in Sangli, then it is the responsibility of top leadership to explain them...We will try our best to win Sangli's seat," Raut said.
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal listed two of the main agendas of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for this election. Meghwal told ANI, "Development and good governance are the two agendas of ours. PM Modi's work has reached the ground based on what we are going into this election... We see everything with positivity, we are not the party which do negative politics. We correct things that have been done wrong and we forget the things of the past...The party is united and will win all 25 seats in Rajasthan."
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha held a 'Padayatra' in support of the party's candidate in Rajnagar, South Tripura. It is to be noted that the elections are scheduled to be held in two phases in the state. The West Tripura seat will go to the polls on April 19, while the East Tripura seat will witness voting on April 26.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a rally in Rajasthan's Churu for BJP candidate Devendra Jhajharia on Friday at around 12:30 p.m.
The rally will be attended by senior leaders, including Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, state BJP president C.P. Joshi, former state president Satish Poonia, and former Opposition leader Rajendra Rathore. Jhajharia is contesting against BJP turncoat and Congress candidate Rahul Kaswan.

Top Congress leaders will release the party's manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections on Friday with its focus on the five 'pillars of justice'. The manifesto would be released by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and former party presidents Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. A day after the launch of the manifesto, Kharge and the Gandhis will address public rallies in Jaipur and Hyderabad where they will also highlight the key elements of the manifesto.
In its manifesto, the Congress will lay emphasis on 'Paanch Nyay' or five pillars of justice, including 'Yuva Nyay', 'Naari Nyay', 'Kisaan Nyay', 'Shramik Nyay' and 'Hissedari Nyay' as well as the guarantees made by it to the people as part of its poll promises for 2024 Lok Sabha elections, as reported by news agency PTI.
For the first time, the Congress will also promise the youths the 'right to employment' as part of its poll manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and is mulling to propose stringent punishment for those responsible for paper leaks in examinations. The focus on youths comes as part of Congress' bid to woo them ahead of the elections.
