West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday said the exit poll predictions were not consistent with the ground reality as they were "manufactured at home" two months back. She claimed that such exit polls have no value, and criticised the press for showing them.
"We had seen how the exit polls were conducted in 2016, 2019 and 2021. None of the predictions had turned out to be true," she told TV9-Bangla.
"These exit polls were manufactured at home by some people two months back for the media consumption. They have no value, she added. Banerjee said the response of the people at her rallies didn't corroborate the exit polls predictions. "The way BJP tried polarisation and spread false information that Muslims were taking away quotas of SC, ST and OBCs, I don't think Muslims will vote for BJP. And, I think the CPI(M) and Congress helped the BJP in West Bengal," she said.

The meeting of the INDIA alliance delegation with the Election Commission has concluded.
Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi stated that under Section 54A, the counting of postal ballots should be done first, the results should be declared, and then the counting of EVMs should be completed. The 2019 guidelines should be followed.
"This is the third time we have approached the Election Commission in this election. The first issue is the postal ballot, which is a well-known process. Postal ballots prove to be decisive in the results, and therefore, there is a provision by the Election Commission that states the counting of postal ballots will be done first. Our complaint is that the Election Commission has removed this from the 2019 guidelines, resulting in the complete counting of EVMs first, and even at the end, announcing the counting of postal ballots is not mandatory. It is essential that the counting of postal ballots, which proves to be decisive, is done first," he said.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, speaking before his surrender to Tihar jail, lambasted the exit polls.
He said, "Exit polls came out yesterday, and I can tell you that all exit polls are fake. One exit poll gave the BJP 33 seats out of a total of 25 in Rajasthan. Someone must have instructed to give more seats to the BJP, and they went overboard, giving them 33 out of 25 seats. The entire exit poll is fake. The real issue is why they needed to conduct a fake exit poll three days before the counting..."
"They have rigged the machines, but I have also spoken to Sandeep Pathak and want to tell I.N.D.I.A. parties to instruct their counting agents to be fully alert. Even if we are losing in the final rounds, they should not leave. Often, after losing in the first, second, and third rounds, agents walk away, but they should not leave. At the very end, the slips from the EVM machines of random booths are taken out, and a random 5% of these slips are matched with the VVPAT slips. VVPAT slip counting and EVM checking happen. If even one machine does not match, the election there is cancelled. If you conduct this check, we can expose the EVM rigging."
On Lok Sabha exit polls, Samajwadi party leader Aditya Yadav claimed that "BJP was trying to put pressure on the vote counting". He said: "The way BJP is shown in lead (in the exit polls), what is being understood from this is, with proper planning, BJP is trying to put pressure on the vote counting that is going to happen on 4th June. I want to tell the candidates of Samajwadi Party and INDIA alliance and the agents who would be participating in counting that don't believe in these exit polls. This is to reduce our morale..."
BJP leader Prakash Javadekar commented on exit polls for Lok Sabha Elections 2024, saying, "The mood of the nation is reflected in the exit poll...Without any discrimination, PM Modi provided benefits to everyone...For the future of the nation, children, and development, the public has voted...PM Modi will take India forward..."
AAP candidate from Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha seat Malvinder Singh Kang, questioned the credibility of exit polls, calling them "untrustworthy" saying, "The credibility of exit polls is not trustworthy...AAP will win all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab...The public will vote NDA out of power...The Government of INDIA alliance will be formed...BJP is not even winning a single seat in the South...BJP is only winning 5 seats out of 25 seats in the North-East..."
"There will be a huge dent in BJP's vote share in Bihar...BJP will suffer a huge defeat in Karnataka...In MP, Rajasthan and Gujarat, BJP will be left with only 50% of the seats...In Delhi, Punjab and Haryana also BJP will suffer a huge defeat," he added.
Assam Congress president Bhupen Kumar Borah claimed that the "I.N.D.I.A bloc will win a minimum of 7 seats in Assam."
"Our vote share in Assam is also going to increase in comparison to 2021. The effect of the INDIA alliance has been seen in Assam. After 4th June, you will get to know that we will win 50% of seats in the state," he added.
Former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat commented on the exit polls for Lok Sabha Elections 2024, saying, "There is a motive behind exit polls, to give weight to BJP's narrative of '400 paar'...This is a part of an orchestrated plan...We reject these kinds of attempts...There is no wave in support of BJP...The public is rooting for change...People are coming forward to protect democracy and constitution..."
