Interestingly, despite securing 6% more votes, UPA is projected to grab lesser number of seats than NDA because the alliance is expected to garner maximum vote share in Muslim dominated regions only, NDA is likely to grab high vote share in most of the regions of the state
As per the survey projections, the vote share of Congress-led UPA is expected to witness a jump of 17.8% from 31% in 2016 to 48.8% in 2021. The vote share of BJP-led NDA is also likely to witness a marginal increase of 1.4% from 41.5% in 2016 to 42.9% of in 2021.
According to the exit poll data, BJP – led NDA is likely to retain power in a very close electoral contest in Assam. The survey data shows that despite a very close fight, after the Congress in Assam, formed a “Grand Alliance” with five parties, the coalition of opposition parties will not be able to dislodge the incumbent NDA in the state.
Despite a higher vote percent in Assam, Congress is not seen winning the elections in the ABP News CVoter Exit Poll.
BJP+ - 58-71
Congress+ - 53-66
Congress is bagging a 48% vote share while BJP is getting 42%.
