New Delhi: The sixth phase of polling for Lok Sabha elections 2019 ended on Sunday where 59 constituencies in six states and Delhi went for voting in the penultimate sixth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. Voting took place on Sunday for 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, all 10 in Haryana, eight each in West Bengal, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, four in Jharkhand and all seven seats in Delhi.In 2014, the BJP had won 45 of these seats, the Trinamool Congress 8, the Congress two and the Samajwadi Party and the LJP one seat each among others.The fate of several Union ministers including Radha Mohan Singh, Harshvardhan and Maneka Gandhi, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leaders Digvijay Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia was decided today in the sixth and penultimate phase of Lok Sabha polls.All seven parliamentary constituencies in Delhi went to polls where as many as 164 candidates were in the fray in the polls, which are largely been seen as a three-way contest among the BJP, Congress and AAP. Prominent candidates in the contest include, veteran Congress leader Sheila Dikshit, Olympian boxer Vijender Singh, Union minister Harsh Vardhan, cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir and Atishi from AAP.34 out of 59 constituencies are red alert constituencies in the sixth phase. (Red alert constituencies are those constituencies where 3 or more contesting candidates have declared criminal cases against themselves)

President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress chief Rahul Gandhi were among the prominent people who voted in Delhi on Sunday. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former CM and Congress's North-East Delhi candidate Sheila Dikshit and Airtel Managing Director Sunil Bharti Mittal also cast their vote.
According to PTI, Delhi recorded a turnout of 55 per cent till 5 pm, poll officials said, adding that the figure would rise by the time voting ends. Among the seven constituencies, the Northeast Delhi saw a turnout of 58.8 per cent, followed by East Delhi which recorded 57.4 per cent voting. New Delhi and South Delhi recorded lowest turnout of 51.9 and 52.5 per cent respectively. West Delhi saw 55.8 per cent voting, while Northwest Delhi recorded a turnout of 53.5 per cent. Chandni Chowk saw a turnout of 56.5 per cent.

The total voter turn out till 5:30 pm for Lok Sabha election in Haryana is 62.08%, Press Information Bureau (PIB) reported.
As the polling in Phase 6 of the Lok Sabha Elections is about to conclude in a few minutes from now, the Election Commission of India will hold a press briefing at 7 pm. In the briefing, EC will reveal the official polling percentage recorded in all seven states where polling took place today.

A voter turnout of 51.93 per cent was recorded till 4 pm in the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana on Sunday, with Kurukshetra and Hisar constituencies witnessing brisk polling. Kurukshetra, from where Haryana minister Nayab Singh Saini is pitted against Congress' Nirmal Singh and INLD's Arjun Chautala, recorded a poll percentage of 56.99 while Hisar recorded 55.50 per cent voting, news agency PTI reported.

A voter turnout of 39.16 per cent was recorded till 2 pm in ten Lok Sabha seats of Haryana on Sunday, with Kurukshetra and Hisar constituencies witnessing brisk polling, reported news agency PTI.
Several Delhi citizens were left disappointed as their names went missing from voters' list for Phase 6 of the Lok Sabha Elections. Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Ranbir Singh said he and his office had been telling people to check their names in voter lists from the last six months.

Voters queued up outside polling booths on Sunday morning in all seven Lok Sabha constituencies of the national capital where former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit, Union minister Harsh Vardhan and cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir are among those in the fray.

Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh is in the fray. He is serving his fifth term as the MP from Purvi Champaran, earlier known as Motihari.
