Elections 2019 Phase 4 HIGHLIGHTS: 64% voter turnout recorded as polling ends in 72 constituencies

Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Phase 4 LIVE UPDATES: According to official Election Commission data, the estimated percentage of votes polled in the fourth phase of General Elections was 64 per cent. According to the EC's official app Voter Turnout, Jammu and Kashmir recorded 10.5 per cent voter turnout, while amid violence, West Bengal saw 64 per cent voting by the end of the day.

Reports of EVM malfunctioning in several states and poll boycott in West Bengal's Asansol came to light in the initial hours of the phase 4 polling of the Lok Sabha elections.

A total of 72 Lok Sabha constituencies spread over nine states, mostly in Hindi heartland, went to polls in the fourth phase of the elections on today. An estimated 12.79 crore electorates were eligible to exercise their franchise in 13 seats each in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, five in Bihar, eight in West Bengal, three in Jharkhand, six in Madhya Pradesh, 17 in Maharashtra and six in Odisha. Considerably, crucial states Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan went for polling for the first time in this phase.
