Lok Sabha elections 2019 Phase 3 LIVE UPDATES: Polling concluded in the third phase of ongoing elections at around 6 pm on Tuesday, April 23, in as many as 117 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across 13 states and 2 Union Territories. Among the key contestants in the fray were BJP chief Amit Shah (Gandhinagar, Gujarat), Congress president Rahul Gandhi (Wayanad, Kerala), and Samajwadi Party patron Mulayam Singh Yadav (Mainpuri, UP).

Overall voting percentage in various states for Phae 3 voting are as following: Assam - 78.29%; Bihar - 59.97%; Goa - 71.09%; Gujarat - 60.21%; Jammu & Kashmir - 12.86%; Karnataka - 64.14%; Kerala - 70.21%; Maharashtra - 56.57%; Odisha - 58.18%; Tripura - 78.52%; Utar Pradesh - 57.74%; West Bengal - 79.36; Chhattisgarh - 65.91%; Dadra & Nagar Haveli - 71.43%; Daman & Diu - 65.34%.

Less than five per cent of the 5.30 lakh electorate of Anantnag district in the Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency of Jammu and Kashmir exercised their franchise in the first four hours of polling Tuesday.
According to ANI, the estimated voter turnout till now for the 3rd phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 is 61.31%.
According to PIB, 60.57% voter turnout was recorded in Bihar till 5 pm. 72.49% in Assam, 53.78 in Uttar Pradesh, 54.91% in Bihar, 74.57% in West Bengal, 11.22% in Jammu & Kashmir, 67.68 in Kerala, 52.53% in Maharashtra, 54.18 in Odisha, 69.09 in Tripura, 59.16% in Chhattisgarh, 64.82 in Daman & Diu, 68.37 in Goa and 56.27% in Gujarat.
Voting has ended in some constituencies and will continue in others till 6.00 pm.

According to reports, 69.09% voting recorded in Tripura till 5pm while Assam had a voter turnout of 72.49% till 5pm.
Over 20 complaints were filed on Tuesday related to the Phase 3 voting glitches with the Gujarat Chief Electoral Officer. One of the complaints was for delay in begining of voting in Ahemadabad while the other was pertaining to the violation of Model Code of Conduct. It was alleged that while PM Narendra Modi reached to cast his vote at Nishan school in Ranip, several posters and banners were displayed within the 100 metres of the polling booth.

The BJP on Tuesday announced singer Hans Raj Hans' candidature from North-West Delhi, hours before the deadline for filing of nomination. Udit Raj, the incumbent MP from North-West, had threatened to resign and contest as an independent if his candidature was not announced from the seat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi after casting his vote in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections at a booth, appealed to people to come out in large numbers to exercise their franchise.
He said the 'voter ID' (identity card) was much more powerful than the 'IED' (improvised explosive device) of terrorists.
Modi arrived at the polling station set up in Nishan High School, located in the Ranip area of Gujarat's Ahmedabad city, in an open jeep in the morning and exercised his democratic right. While arriving at the polling booth, he greeted thousands of people who had gathered on both sides of the road.
After casting his vote, Modi walked some distance from the polling booth and later had a brief interaction with media persons.
The Election Commission has curtailed the polling duration for Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency by two hours following a request from the state police to this effect. The voting will be held in south Kashmir areas from 7 am to 4 pm. The Anantnag district has 5,29,256 electors including 2,69,603 males, 2,57,540 females, 2,102 service electors and 11 transgender voters. The EC has also established 1,842 polling stations to facilitate smooth polling, the official said.
Meanwhile, voting today began on a dull note in Anantnag district of Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency, where polling will be held in three legs, amidst tight security measures, officials said. Residents in most parts of the district in restive south Kashmir have stayed indoors so far, an official said. While polling is underway in Anantnag district, voting in Kulgam district will be held on April 29 while Pulwama and Shopian districts will go to polls on May 6.

Voting began Tuesday for 117 Lok Sabha seats, including all constituencies in Gujarat and Kerala, with BJP president Amit Shah, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and several Union ministers among prominent candidates in the fray.
About 18.56 crore voters are eligible for voting in the third phase of the elections, for which 2.10 lakh polling booths/stations have been set up.
The Election Commission has made elaborate security arrangements.

Lok Sabha elections 2019 Phase 3 LIVE UPDATES: Polling concluded in the third phase of ongoing elections began on Tuesday, April 23, in as many as 117 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across 13 states and 2 Union Territories. All 26 constituencies in Gujarat, all 20 seats in Kerala, 14 each in Maharashtra and Karnataka, 10 in Uttar Pradesh, seven in Chhattisgarh, six in Odisha, five each in Bihar and West Bengal, four in Assam, two in Goa, one each in Jammu and Kashmir, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Tripura witnessed polling in the third phase today.
Among the key contestants in the fray were BJP chief Amit Shah (Gandhinagar, Gujarat), Congress president Rahul Gandhi (Wayanad, Kerala), and Samajwadi Party patron Mulayam Singh Yadav (Mainpuri, UP).
