Among schools, Jawahar Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) and Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) have topped with 98.70 and 98.62 pass percentage.

Among regions, Trivandrum or Thiruvananthapuram region has recorded the highest pass percentage with 97.67 percent. Bengaluru is at second spot with 97.05 pass percentage, and Chennai is third with 96.17 pass percentage.
This year total of 88.78 percent of students have passed, an increase of 5.38 percent from last year. This year the pass percentage among girls is 92.15 percent and among boys, it is 86.19 percent. Girls have done better than boys by 5.96 percent. the pass percentage among transgender students is 66.67 per cent.
As per the announcement made by the Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ as well as CBSE Board earlier on; the CBSE Board Results 2020 for both 10th and 12th Classes are to be announced on or before 15th July 2020.

It is very likely that CBSE will declare the 10th results in two days to follow the deadline of 15th July.
There is a significant increase in students scoring above 90 percent, with 38,686 students get 90 percent above marks this year. Last year, only 1.47 percent had scored above 95 percent, this year double to 3.24 percent. The number of candidates scoring over 90 percent also went up from 7.82 percent in 2019 to 13.24 percent in 2020.

CBSE Topper Divyanshi Jain Scores 100% Marks

Divyanshi who is a student of Navyuga Radiance Senior secondary school has scored 600 out of 600 marks in the CBSE 12 board 2020 exams.

Divayanshi's subjects for the CBSE 12th board exams were English, Sanskrit, History, Geography, Economics, and Insurance.

The overall pass percentage has increased from 5.38 percent since 2019. Around 18 lakh students have appeared for Class 10th and 12th examinations including transgender students.
Tele-counselling for CBSE 12th Students

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released class 12 results today and therefore, started its annual post-result tele-counseling. The facility will be available till July 27. Students, parents, and other stakeholders will get answers to their problems related to the class 10 and class 12 board results during the period through telephonic, IVRD and textual counseling. The services can be availed from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

REPLACEMENT OF TERM FAIL BY ESSENTIAL REPEAT



CBSE has decided to replace the term “FAIL” by the term “Essential Repeat”. Hence, in the result declared no “FAIL” term will be mentioned in the documents issued to the candidates and the result hosted on the website.

CONDUCT OF OPTIONAL EXAMINATIONS



The schedule for taking options from the students who are eligible and the dates of the optional examinations will be announced subsequently in consultation with the Government of India.
The CBSE Class XII Board Examinations were scheduled to be conducted from 15.02.2020 till 30.03.2020. Due to spread of Covid-19 pandemic, CBSE was forced to cancel examinations scheduled from 19.03.2020 to 30.03.2020 in 12 subjects along with examinations in 11 subjects for students of North-Eastern Delhi. These exams were re-scheduled to be held from 01 to 15 July 2020.

The 23rd edition of post-result counselling facility will be activated by CBSE with the help of 95 volunteer principals and trained counsellors from within affiliated schools located in and outside India.

Merit list may not be announced this year, only scorecard to be released




As several state boards did not go ahead with the practice of releasing merit list of students for the last academic year, speculations are rife that CBSE may also not release the merit list and toppers’ list this year.



However, it will be a wait and watch situation for the students. The class 12th results, which is likely to be released today, may give an idea about how class 10th results will be declared for the academic year 2019-2020.
