He stated that COVID-19 has affected the academic calendar and the issue of Board Exams has been causing immense anxiety among students, parents, and teachers, which must be put to an end.

Around 7000 parents have also moved to the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of the Class 12 Board Exams 2021 in wake of the surge in the covid-19 cases across the country.
The Supreme Court bench led by Justice AM Khanwilkar along with Justice Dinesh Maheshwari will hear a plea against the cancellation of the CBSE and ICSE Class 12 Board exams 2021 on Monday, May 31, 2021, at 11 am.

Earlier on May 31, the plea regarding the cancellation of CBSE and CISCE class 12 board examinations was heard by the Supreme Court bench. The bench later adjourned the hearing till June 3, 2021, after the Central government asked for the time to take a final decision regarding the matter.
Advocate Mamta Sharma has filed the petition, asking the court to frame an objective methodology for the declaration of Class 12 results within a specific time frame. "In view of the unprecedented health emergency and rising numbers of the Covid-19 cases in the country, the conduct of examination, either offline or online or blended in upcoming weeks is not possible, and delay in the examination will cause irreparable loss to the students as time is the essence in taking admission in higher education courses in foreign universities," the plea said.
