The recent Maharashtra municipal corporation elections have delivered a devastating verdict on the once-formidable political empires of the Thackeray and Pawar families. Across 29 municipal corporations, the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance secured control of 25 bodies, with the BJP alone clinching approximately 1,425 seats statewide. In the crown jewel, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) with its 227 seats, the BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 89 seats, partnering with Shiv Sena
