Opinion: India, Canada Need Quiet Diplomacy To Settle Row. New Delhi Can’t Risk Alienating Five-Eyes

Bilateral ties between India and Canada have reached a point of no return, and, in an unprecedented move, both sides have expelled over 60 diplomats from each other’s diplomatic missions in New Delhi and Ottawa — all because of a row kicked up by Canada’s “suspicions” regarding the Hardeep Singh Nijjar murder case. Canada has gone to the extent of naming India’s High Commissioner to Ottawa, Sanjay Verma, as a “person of interest” in the case.
