MQM Chief criticises Pak Army, Chief Justice

London [United Kingdom], Feb 23 (ANI): Founder leader of Pakistan's political party Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has strongly criticised the Pakistani military and the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saquib Nisar, saying, "it looked as if the CJP is a serving army General."

"It looked as if the CJP is a serving Army General and his team of judges is a team of Army Generals. This is evident from his actions, remarks and judgments which he has made so far," Hussain said, while addressing live to the MQM affiliates across the globe on Tuesday from London.

In his address, he dwelled on variety of issues like: atrocities on folks in Pakistan, custodial assassination by the security forces of Pakistan, mysterious death of eminent lawyer and rights activist Asma Jahangir and other issues.

Discussing about slain MQM leader Prof. Dr Hassan Zafar Arif, he said that Pakistan's military establishment assassinated him in custody because he refused to take dictation and live like a slave.

Professor Arif was found dead in his car in Karachi's Ilyas Goth area on January 14, a day after his abduction.

Police, military intelligence and military establishment had cited cardiac arrest as the reason for his demise.

"It is of immense pain and agony that the CJP has also failed to take notice of custodial assassination of him perhaps because he does not want to annoy the military establishment," he added.

According to him, the Pakhtoon community, demanding freedom from Pakistan, is directly pointing at the military establishment as main culprit behind genocide of minorities in Pakistan and terrorism.

Hussain said that Pakhtoon community has been enslaved by the Pakistani military establishment.

"The policies of the Pakistani military establishment have converted the entire area of Pakhtoon into a war-hit and terror-hit zone," the MQM Chief said.

"It is high time for the youth of tribal areas of Pakistan to realise that their grievances and anomalies are engineered by the Pakistani military establishment," he added.

Hussain said, "It a bad luck to Pakistan that no army General has so far been brought to justice box for all wrongdoings."

"Pakistan Supreme Court (SC) is not daring to take notice of corruption of army Generals. Ex-COAS general (Retd) Ashfaque Pervez Kyani's brother minted billions from corruption and ex-DG ISI General (Retd) Rizwan Akhtar minted billions through corruption and extortion but they have never been tried because they hailed from army," Hussain added.

Taking note of that, MQM chief underscored that the courts in Pakistan are not free. He also alleged that the troops sent by the "military establishment" to Saudi Arabia "are not for peace mission."(ANI)
