PM Modi Inaugurates Sudarshan Setu Bridge

The Sudarshan Setu bridge connects the Okha mainland and Beyt Dwarka in Gujarat

The bridge features a footpath bedecked with Bhagavad Gita verses and images of Lord Krishna on both sides

The solar panels installed on the upper portions of the footpath will generate one megawatt of electricity

PM Modi is on a visit to Gujarat, during which he laid the foundation stone of a slew of development projects worth over Rs 52,250 crore

The bridge, which was known as 'Signature Bridge', has been renamed as 'Sudarshan Setu' or Sudarshan Bridge

The four-lane 27.20 metre wide bridge has 2.50 metre wide footpaths on each side

The Sudarshan Setu bridge has been constructed at a cost of Rs 979 crore

The 2.32 km bridge, including 900 metres of central double span cable-stayed portion and a 2.45 km long approach road
