AI Firm From Silicon Valley Starts Operations In Bihar: All You Want You Know

A prominent artificial intelligence company from US' Silicon Valley has opened its first office in the Indian state of Bihar.

This marks the initial foray of a US-based IT firm into the region, which now hopes to draw more foreign companies.

The AI firm that has commenced its operations in Patna is Tiger Analytics, which has its corporate headquarters in Santa Clara, US.

Tiger Analytics specialises in consulting services related to artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Tiger Analytics already has offices in Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, with around 4,000 employees working across India, as per a PTI report.

The founder and CEO of Tiger Analytics is Mahesh Kumar, who is originally from Bihar.

'Tiger Analytics had a considerable number of employees who relocated to Bihar during Covid, opting for remote work, and didn't want to go back,' Mahesh Kumar told PTI.

'We have close to a hundred people between Bihar and Jharkhand right now. They're working remotely and they were happy there...' Kumar said.

Sandeep Poundrik, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industries, Bihar, said he hoped more companies would now come to Bihar.

A delegation of senior Bihar officials previously visited Silicon Valley to have discussions with successful tech entrepreneurs who hail from Bihar, PTI reported.

Bihar government is now gearing up to host a Global Investors' Meet in Patna on December 13 and 14, with a key focus on promotion of the IT sector.
