Queen Elizabeth, who took the British throne 5 yrs after India's Independence, had good ties with India. She visited India thrice. Her first visit to India was in January 1961 Queen Elizabeth II hosted then President of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan in London in 1963 The Queen with then PM Indira Gandhi during her second visit to India, in 1983 In 2009, Queen Elizabeth met then PM Dr Manmohan Singh in London at the G20 Summit The Queen also hosted then President Pratibha Patil in London in 2009 Queen Elizabeth met PM Modi twice, once in 2015 and then in 2018, both in the Buckingham Palace. The Queen passed away at 96, on September 8. The world mourns her death. Prince Charles inherited the throne after Queen's death. He will be crowned as the King and will be known as King Charles III.
