Abu Dhabi Set To Host PM Modi For Inauguration Of 1st Hindu Temple

PM Modi was formally invited to inaugurate the temple in December last year.

Mahant Swami Maharaj, the spiritual leader who will preside over the temple's inauguration, arrived in Abu Dhabi on Feb 5.

The BAPS Mandir will be UAE's first Hindu temple.

The construction of the temple cost around 400 mn Dirhams (Rs 700 Crore approx).

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, donated 13.5 acres of land for the temple.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi donated the land during PM Modi's visit in 2015.

Another 13.5 acres were donated in 2019 by the government of UAE, totalling to 27 acres.

The majestic structure embodies the spirit of cultural peace and collaboration. It is also a testament to the friendship between India and the UAE.

On February 13, PM Modi will address the Indian diaspora at 'Ahlan Modi'.
