Inspired by Atlee’s 2016 Tamil film Theri, Baby John was released worldwide on December 25, 2024. The film had a poor box office performance upon release.
The movie follows DCP Satya Verma, who fakes his own death to protect his daughter from the dangerous politician Babbar Sher. Satya must confront his past and risk everything to safeguard his family.
Baby John stars Varun Dhawan, Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rajpal Yadav. Salman Khan makes a special appearance.
Varun Dhawan had hoped Baby John would establish him as an action hero in Bollywood. However, the film received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics, impacting its word-of-mouth appeal.
Baby John collected ₹11.25 crore on its opening day but failed to make a significant impact at the box office. It had a net collection of ₹35.98 crore after 20 days of release.
As per reports, Baby John was made on a budget of ₹160 crore.
