Abhishek Tripathi reaches Phulera to join as Panchayat Secretary, where his first day at work turns out to be really bad. Seeing him homeless and without anything to eat, the Panchayat Pradhan invites him for dinner.
Abhishek then resolves a rumour in the village regarding the 'Bhootah Ped' which apparently chases whoever goes near it at night. Once the mystery is solved, Pradhan and Prahlad sleep under it that night.
Abhishek's life in Phulera turns out to be anything but peaceful. After many mishaps, there is again a chaos in the village regarding a slogan the aims at birth control.
Trivial matters become big deal for the villagers and one such issue was Abhishek's chair referred to as 'Pahiye waali kursi' in the series, which apparantly was a symbol of power and respect leading to chaos at a wedding and afterwards.
Abhishek, bored and frustrated at the village due to lack of friends, decides to drink one night after which he forgets to lock the door. As a result the monitor gets stolen from Panchayat office.

Manju Devi being the actual pradhan decides to hoist the Republic Day flag that year, instead of her husband. Abhishek helps her memorise the National Anthem for the occasion.
Manju Devi hoists the flag and sings the National Anthem on Republic Day bringing in change in the village.
After hearing multiple times that one falls in love with Phulera after viewing it from the top of the water tank, Abhishek decides to see what it is. On reaching the top, he finds Rinki, who is pradhan's daughter, hinting a love story to begin soon.
