Poila Baishakh 2024 Recipes: Know How To Prepare Faridpurer Hathe Makha Ilish- A Bangladeshi Delicacy

Method to prepare:

First, put some turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt on the Hilsha fish. Set aside.

Then, take a bowl and put all the ingredients except fresh green chilli and coriander leaves.

Now, mash all the ingredients properly with your hands.

Next, take a pan and add all the mashed spices and fish, along with a little bit of water.

Turn on the gas and cook for ten minutes over low heat.

After ten minutes, turn all the fish pieces one by one. Taste for salt and leave it to cook for another 5 minutes.

Now, add all the green chillies and a little bit of raw mustard oil.

Turn off the gas. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.

Your Faridpurer Hathe Makha Ilish is now ready. Serve with steamed rice and Gondhoraj lebu (Kaffir lime).
